    Romans 4, water baptism?

Paul is not saying that he has no interest in people being baptized. Rather, he is saying that, with limited exceptions, he is not the one sent to do the baptizing. Paul is "sowing seeds", so to speak, doing the initial evangelization. Others after him will be the ones to baptize.

What is the “one baptism” mentioned in Ephesians 4:5? (I have an answer, but I would like input).

It is not "one kind of baptism", as in water but not spirit, or spirit but not water. Rather, one baptism for all people, as opposed to a baptism for the Jews and a baptism for the Gentiles. The emphasis is on Jews and Gentiles being fellow heirs of the promises made to Abraham, and that there...

    Question for Amillennialists

There are two primary passages from the Old Testament that establish the "amil" view, and which establish the paradigm continued into the New Testament. One is Psalm 110:1-2 The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit Thou at my right hand until I make Thine enemies Thy footstool. The LORD shall send the...

    Jehovah vs Yahweh

Aa far as I can tell, "Jehovah" gets the "v" correct, as well as the fact that there are three syllables, while "Yahweh" gets the "Y" correct. I don't remember where I heard this, but I had heard somewhere that the word "Adonai" preserves the vowel sounds of "YHVH", making it something...

    Exodus and Egyptian Chronology

I can't speak to every single detail, but at least many of these discrepancies are cleared up when we use the genealogies as they appear in the Greek translation of the Old Testament instead of the Masoretic Old Testament. The Greek translation is seemingly based on a Hebrew that is different...

Do Greek English speaking people call their saviors name Jesus?

I know lots of Greek Christians, many of whom are native Greek speakers who speak English as a second language. Every one of them that I know pronounces it the English way when speaking English and the Greek way when speaking Greek.

    Favorite book of the OT

It is the Psalms. But it is by such a large margin that it is almost in a category of its own to me. So other than the Psalms, if we consider the 12 Minor Prophets as a single book, as has been the historical norm, then "The Twelve" would be my favorite.

Are Christmas Trees Pagan according to Jeremiah 10?

My answer to the question is "no". The passage begins by discussing the heathen being "dismayed by the signs of the heavens." The paradigm of Scripture is that the sun, moon, and stars are directly associated with angelic beings who are assigned by God to govern the movements of those heavenly...

What is the validity of the Book of Enoch?

At the very least I believe we can say that Enoch was part of what formed the worldview of the authors and recipients of the New Testament. Even if we conclude that it is not truly part of the Old Testament (which I agree with), it was certainly a prominent piece of literature in the late 2nd...

What is your opinion on Aliens

I read that trilogy 20-something years ago. Those Oyarsa were aligned with respect to sources of light instead of sources of gravity. I thought that that was a really neat idea on Lewis' part.

What is your opinion on Aliens

The angels were created to participate with God in governing and ordering the universe (this is what we were created to and for as well). Many of the demons were once angels which governed the movements of stars and other celestial bodies (the association of angels and stars, particularly with...

Why Abrahm from Ur? Why not Imotep from Egypt or Hwai Do from China?

The answer, I believe, lies in the fact that the story of the calling of Abraham follows immediately after the story of the Tower of Babel, and that Abraham's home was in the heart of the ancient Babylonian Empire (as opposed to the Neo-Babylonian Empire which took Judah into exile), which is...
