I don't read Icelandic, nor do I care what it says in the bible.

When you put it like this, I'd rather be tossed into hellfire than spend eternity with such a being.
God's love wants to save you from the wrath of a fiery hell. There's such a powerful delusion afoot here when people utterly reject the Creator of the Universe, and would rather choose something they have no clue what it entails. It's like choosing total darkness & suffering over love & light, & peace for all eternity.

Hans, it's not Icelandic, it's 1175 English from the Wessex Bible.

I see no reason to think that the Universe has a creator.

I see my error, Icelandic uses the same character set. I didn't see any familiar words about volcanoes so I didn't lock into any meaning. (I don't care how old it is, I'm not interested.)

Honestly I thought I was looking at some Nordic script myself when I first saw it. And I've read "A Concise Dictionary of Middle English from A.D. 1150 to 1580 by Mayhew and Skeat" which doesn't even have some of the words in that 1175 Bible.
And I don't see the usage of the Yogh Ȝ in the Bible, though that letter was used in 1175. Thorn þ , eth ð ,and Ash æ, are used.
I also do not see the Wynn
ƿ in the Wessex either (no pun intended) Ƿessex ?
So actually I'm not sure that Wessex Bible here Wessex Gospels c.1175 Textus Receptus Bibles
is how the original type set was. They use some middle English letters, but not others

Durangodawood, I was thinking the same thing earlier. Some people have thought of bringing back Thorn, Eth & Yogh.

PS: I've investigated my beliefs also, and found them completely justified.
Ever read Case For Christ by Lee Strobel, or Evidence that Demands a Verdict, More Evidence, and More than a Carpenter by Josh McDowell, or look at any of the Creation science evidences?
Yes, and they were all unconvincing. Mysteries are not miracles. Questions are not evidence. Ancient stories are not proof.

The laws of physics seem to be capable of giving rise to everything we see. As Brian Greene said, that doesn't mean there isn't a higher power, only that a higher power is not necessary.

One of the basic principles of communication is to tailor your message to your audience - something this post has failed to do.
What I like about the original post is that it is a direct reminder of many of the things that I don't like about the Christian religion. In many ways Christianity is the opposite of my philosophy in life.

To me people are not automatically sinners needing to atone and repent for being themselves. But in fact people are wonderfully individuals, living out their lives, finding purpose and joy overcoming obstacles and continually learning and experiencing. There is nothing wrong with being who you are. There is no shame in making mistakes. We do not need to atone, the only forgiveness we need need comes from ourselves. We are worthy, we are special. There is nothing wrong with being human, nothing wrong with growing and learning. Nothing wrong with our hearts, nothing wrong with not believing in imaginary things. No one died for us, we owe nothing, we should live life guilt free.

Anyway, thanks for the reminder

But, what shall you do in the end, if you discover it is all true after all? That you are indeed a sinner, and in need of a Saviour, and that Jesus Christ did in fact die to atone for your sin, and you knew this obviously from reading on this forum, yet refused to believe and rejected so great a salvation?

Forgiving ourselves is fine, but forgiving others is better, and the forgiveness that comes from God alone is the forgiveness that is best, for this forgiveness must be received if we are to be saved, and inherit eternal life.

What will you do when you are in miserable, cold Hel after your death because you didn't die in battle and weren't taken to Asgard by the Valkyries to feast and fight in Asgard until Ragnarok?

The Anunnaki Watchers Odin and Thor and the rest of the Aesir shall be defeated in battle by Yeshua the Messiah. I honestly do not know what shall become of them after that.

Of Grape Juice?

"Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power" - 1 Corinthians 15:24

Then we have these guys but the present gods can't be them:
"And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day." - Jude 6

(He also doesn't say what the judgment shall be, but if rebels, then probably the lake of fire)

"And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him." - Daniel 7:27

Oh, here's the probable drink?

PS - I must say I've seen some Odinists who were showing more brotherly love and camaraderie than some Christians, and I even brought that up in our Christian service!

Nyet. No aliens, no Zecharia Sitchin theory; no reptilians...
Watchers, as in those who came down from heaven 200 strong, the B'nai Elohim, or sons of God in Genesis 6 and Book of Enoch.
A Watcher also appears in the book of Daniel, but that one is in Yahweh's service.

I think mead is probable. Then again, the norse gods don't strike me as very picky with their alcoholic beverages.

Alcohol is banned in the Kingdom of heaven. But it will not be needed to experience joy and bliss, nor shall there be the associated sickness that often comes to those who get drunk.
