Strangest place was in the Wall Mart music section next to the hip hop cds.
Funny thing is that there was a lot of support from across the aisle in the inspirational section.
They were literally caught with their pants down.
We surrounded them and formed an unbreakable circle of prayer which they could not escape!
After all was all said and done those jokers pulled their pants up and promised to walk the right way.

List the strangest or wackiest place(s) you've ever had to witness at before!

I'll start!

The "returns desk" at Kohl's dept store while returning a shirt.

I'd been in the prison cell where different criminals are there

Sheltering in a doorway. The heavens had just opened and not even my umbrella could withstand the force of the water. As I made my way to the only available shelter, I saw a girl running to the same place and received a nudge from the Holy Spirit. I recognised her as one of the working girls in the area and knew I had until the rain stopped to get into a conversation about Jesus - which took about five seconds because God was in it. Within a minute I had given my testimony (shortened version) and she opened up, telling me that her step-father was a Baptist minister and that she knew all about Jesus.

I asked her if she actually knew Jesus beyond head knowledge, to which she replied she didn't. She let me pray for her, the rain stopped, and I never saw her again - which was encouraging because every one of the other working girls (bar one - another story) would return daily to ply their trade.

As a side note, working girls were easy for me to witness to as they would be the ones approaching me when I used to work in a certain community. Plus, I have personally been set free from drug addiction and the common roots that underpin that particular bondage are well known to me.

As I've written in the past, the way my mind and spirit work together during times piror and up to the moment I am witnessing is recognizable. Because I am getting older and am often on a medication that can cause a lack in concentration, even that, the Spirit is able to subdue for that time.

I will look for a word that I can focus on to lead into a talk. Normally a feeling word is best. "I'm feeling old," might be a comment, that, and in itself it seems pretty ordinary. But mirrored to the talker it has the potential of opening him/her up.

"You're no longer a boy, huh?"
"No way. I hurt from the time I get up in the morning."
A talk about seeing a doctor, etc., might pursue, and maybe at some point asking that person what he believes about an afterlife, which can lead into verses on the misery that life is when day to day living isn't accompanied by the hope that is in Christ.

Hi, hopeinGod - "I will look for a word that I can focus on to lead into a talk"

I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes a single word or a saying or a throwaway comment is the way in, and the Holy Spirit somehow illuminates what is spoken by the other person in a way that when you respond - even when mentioning Jesus in the opening sentence - it seems so natural and unforced.

When that unction isn't there it always seems like I am crowbarring Jesus into the conversation - a kind of fleshly clumsiness that I know will be devoid of the same conviction that the former example elicits.

Wasn't exactly witnessing, but one night at work I sat with a guy and his family in the waiting room while his wife was having an emergency life saving surgery. He was crying hysterically (and I cried a little to). I told him that God was in control no matter what happened and sat with him for a few minutes since it was my break. I wanted to pray but was too emotional and chickened out.. When I got up to go back to working he shook my hand and I prayed for him and his wife the rest of my shift. I have no idea what happened to them but it still makes me cry thinking about it.

I used to speak face-to-face to the prostitutes that hung out at the entrance of the nightclubs on Jax. Beach, FL in the 70s. On one occasion, God put it in my heart to proclaim in a kind of end-of-time tone, "Repent of your whorish sins, for the kingdom of heaven is near, and if you repent, God will forgive you and give you a new life."

When in a group, like these women were, it is tough to get one to respond because of peer pressure, but I could tell what I went on to say in a lower tone, began to get to the heart of a couple of them. They were kind to me and remarked that they thought I had a good heart and cared about others, but were afraid their lives were destined for what it was they did for money.

I used to take a flashlight with me into rock concerts and stroll among those standing at the front, or near the front, of the stage. I'd open my Bible to a verse, shine the flashlight on the verse, and ask them to read it. I'd choose verses that were fitting, something that spoke of singing unto the Lord a new song or Psalms 1 that speaks to those who walk in the counsel of the ungodly and stand in the way of sinners, and explained to them what it would be like when they turned to Christ with a sincere heart, that they would become like that tree planted by the rivers of water that brought forth fruit unto righteousness. And I would explain to them what righteousness and right-standing meant. Lots of young people heard the gospel and respected me for reaching out to them, but few actually made that decision, which had to be done away from the noise of the music. I'd have to ask them to please come with me to the outside circle where it was quieter.

I preached on the sidewalk of Jax. Beach after gaining a permit from the city. One of the pastors gave me a police PA system that I set up on the top of my VW car. After adding a long extension to the mike, I'd walk back and forth on the sidewalk proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ. After a while, some folks went to that part of the beach just to hear that fellow who preached on Saturdays.

I admit that evangelism has always been my favorite work as a believer, and, in fact, something I felt very called to do. Now that I am older, 62, and have spent over 27 years working for the fed. govt. which has led me to the place where I can retire in another three months (if I want), I think about what I would do with my time off.

God knows, I love reading -- just about anything, since I majored in Literature in 1980 and gained a deep love for the classics, although my library is huge and full of all genres -- and writing, continuing attendance to a book club once a month, and playing music professionally at local restaurants, but there seems to be something more I should be doing once I'm no longer working.

Getting back on the streets might be the right choice, although the Florida summers are so blasted hot anymore, so it isn't something I'd relish as much as when I was in my 20s. Please pray that God will show me, give me direction. I'm no longer a joiner of a church, since I am far more attached to home groups than I am the one man show. Anyway, maybe the Lord will find something more for me, even if it means I play Christian music for the church groups that meet in restaurants after services.
David

I don't really witness much cause I am shy about it but have passed out tracts lots of times, and talk about Jesus whenever I get the chance and the topic comes up.
