Storyline

Two individuals -- a young man named Aylus Kade and a woman named Kaima Punyal -- found themselves in a void of infinite emptiness, seemingly without past, memory, or identity. A mysterious voice informed them that they were chosen for an unspecified purpose, consequent to a choice they themselves had made. Aylus and Kaima were then granted special powers, and instructed to keep the light within them strong.

Shortly after the two met for the first time in the Void, they were attacked by strange, white-suited creatures who sought to take them by force. In the ensuing struggle, the creatures triumphed and all hope seemed lost.

But they awoke as if from a dream, to find themselves in an unknown place, still with no memory of who they were or where they came from. Lost and confused, they set about the task of finding out what had happened to them...

Traverse Town

A quaint and calm town, Traverse Town features a sky of eternal night, where stars can be seen clearly. Survivors of the worlds lost to the Heartless find their way here after their world has been destroyed. Traverse Town consists of remnants of worlds whose hearts have been stolen by the Heartless, which is why anyone lucky enough to survive the destruction of their world ends up there.

Previously ungoverned, in recent years Traverse Town is now overseen by the Council of Lost Worlds, a body of nine elected representatives chosen to manage organizational, economic, and security affairs. Of the nine, one Council membbrt is given the position of Presider, whose job is to keep the Council focused and on task. The current Presider is Laguna Loire (he was elected largely due to his popularity amongst the Moogles, and there are a lot of Moogles in town0.
