In metaphor of prisoners tied up in the cave. Having making the journey to the upper world they pass from opinion to actual knowledge. In the world of the ideal, as illustrated below, we find Justice at the very top. To form opinions require us to make judgements of our reality. God therefore cares about out opinions, not that he may agree with them, but our opinions form judgements, which we will be accountable for in that last day...

Mass (m) = Energy (E/c2)

And there are three varieties...

Natural E/c2 - All mass is basically cooled plasma
Mental E/c2 - Mentally, A mathematical formula, but this has chemical and spiritual properties as well.
Spiritual E/c2 - E (motivation, warmth, love) / c2 (faith, hope, charity, joy)

To pass from the darkness into the upper world is to escape the clutches of darkness and discover light and energy on a natural, mental, and spiritual level.

And it is a journey getting from the dark cold cave to the great warmth and outdoors...

There is yet another form of light and energy that was brought down with Lucifer after they were booted out of heaven. This light and energy is in the form of Ego and as there is none of the true light and energy in ego, the ends are always cold and dark.
