A summation of "Progressive" Christianity beliefs.

This is what I mean. Neoclassical theist view of life, I think, tends to be progressive and I think that involves a different interpretation of life and how we ought to live it.

A summation of "Progressive" Christianity beliefs.

Perhaps we are really talking about the shift from Classical Theism to Process Theology or Neoclassic Theism.

Where is the center of the universe?

Where is that center point? It is now believed there is no such thing in this dimension...or it is everywhere.

“We are all fundamentally good ... the heart itself is good,” says Pope Francis

The question was , "When you look at the world, what gives you hope?" His initial answer was, "Everything" and then he gave examples of heroism." The bit about fundamental goodness followed from that." I can't believe this nitpicking.

“We are all fundamentally good ... the heart itself is good,” says Pope Francis

In the context of the interview he is talking about what gives him hope. Why play "gotcha" with such a hopeful statement? He can see the good and "heroism" in people. It is too bad so many people can only see the evil.

They both are. So we need to look closely at V.P candidates.

“We are all fundamentally good ... the heart itself is good,” says Pope Francis

Same with us The Pope never said people are sinless or without need of a redeemer. ""Fundamentally Good" does not mean perfect, self righteous nor sinless. It means created by God with great potential. Reread the beatitudes. He said: 3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the...

The only confusion is mistaking a concern for justice as some sort of political gimmick.

Where is the center of the universe?

Reminds me of Hermes Trismegistus, “God is an infinite sphere, the center of which is everywhere, the circumference nowhere.” Book of the 24 Philosophers. Pascal: “The whole visible world is only an imperceptible atom in the ample bosom of nature. No idea approaches it. We may enlarge our...

“We are all fundamentally good ... the heart itself is good,” says Pope Francis

Right. He is talking about what gives him hope and he is able to recognize what he sees as the good in people. That does not mean they don't need Christ a or that they are sinless or anything else. "Fundamental goodness" speaks to creation and God's image and likeness that pre-existed the...

No one has said otherwise. Not even the Pope.

“We are all fundamentally good ... the heart itself is good,” says Pope Francis

“Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God” (Genesis 6:9) Human goodness "of itself"? Human "fundamental goodness" is entirely in relation to God. No one has claimed otherwise. The Pope never said humans do not need God, redemption or have any goodness of...

“We are all fundamentally good ... the heart itself is good,” says Pope Francis

Again, it is very Calvinistic to emphasize human fault. Why do people prefer to amplify a few scripture verses that identify human fault while completely ignoring those that speak of human goodness?

Where is the center of the universe?

As counterintuitive as it may seem, the universe has no center, and it has no boundary. https://www.astronomy.com/science/ask-astro-where-is-the-center-of-the-universe/ https://www.wtamu.edu/~cbaird/sq/2013/09/17/where-is-the-center-of-the-universe/...

A summation of "Progressive" Christianity beliefs.

As with so many of these they present a distorted strawman sort of view. The gospel is still "seen primarily as the good news of God saving sinners and reconciling them to Himself". But the Gospel also reacquires our own good faith response. The Gospel of Christ is not a passive Gospel...
