People claim to want Jesus for president, but would they really?

Explain how Jesus’s message is bad for the Religious Right.

Are you familiar with the Sermon on the Mount? How about the Parable of the Good Samaritan? Or the Judgment of the Nations?

The Good Samaritan story is about personal charity. It is not about welfare. This is a very common mistake (or manipulation tactic more likely) leftists make.

2 Corinthians 9:7
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

He preached about social justice about ten times more than anything else.
He befriended the pariahs of society.
He himself was a refugee in a strange land as a child.
He told the men stoning the woman that the one without sin should cast the first stone.
He said we should respect government--unlike Republican attempts to overthrow it.
What did he say about abortion or homosexuality? You'll have to help me out there.

That quote is used mostly by those who don't want to give.

Egypt was part of the Roman Empire, Mary and Joseph did not cross borders illegally. Trying to use that story to defend illegal border crossings is a wicked twisting of scripture.

Better Jesus be elected President than Moses. With Moses in control, women who get raped in a urban environment could be executed for not screaming loud enough to make a neighbor here them. Personally, I don't think they considered that rapists have the option of covering a woman's mouth or simply knocking her unconscious,

Even when people welcome refugees it is still a tremendously traumatic experience. I am sure Jesus weeps for those whose journey was even more traumaticthan his due to the cruelty of others.

And yet you have no argument as to why it’s incorrect. Also it’s an appeal to motive fallacy.
I also recall the couple in Acts who were struck dead because they did not share their abundance with others...

Maybe Jesus weeps (but He is in Heaven so....) over Americans who have been raped &/or murdered by illegals...

I think if Jesus weeps at all anymore, He just might weep over that--just a thought

wow, I usually get your posts but not this one.

I don't think Moses condoned rape. I have read the entire Old Testament and never saw anything remotely like this

not to mention that God made it clear they had to go there. It looks like God is not into violating "Caesar's" laws... (now called Laws made by the US legislature)

Right. Did Jesus tell a parable about a man beaten badly and the person who stopped to help went to find a government worker?

LOL

They were struck dead because of their deception.
True, they LIED

to the Holy Spirit

It says that right there in the Word.

But a lot of people just see what they want to see in the Word.... No wonder Jesus said few find the narrow way to heaven... most people are stuck in this world.. so stuck, apparently, they can't even see it
