After a life of sin, I sought and joined the Roman Catholic Church in 2009. I went through all phases of Catholicism; my catechism was completed at a "progressive" parish, but I ended up in independent traditional parishes.

As a traditional Catholic, I did not question church dogma, but deep down, I always felt like it was the wrong church for me.

I soon found a book titled The Pilgrim Finds His Way (ironically in a Catholic book store), which is a book about an Orthodox monk. It was the first time that I had heard about the Orthodox church and the book intrigued me enough to read more about it. I soon realized that I was meant to be in the EO Church.

My wife was a devout Roman Catholic and she forbade me from converting for three years. During that time, I prayed for a solution. Over time, my wife softened her stance to the point that she helped me find an Orthodox priest and she encouraged me to be chrismated. I was chrismated into the EO Church in April 2016 and the first time I ever attended the Divine Liturgy was at Pascha 2016.
