    The Fatima Apparitions

Again I'm not speaking of Church relations... my point is something else. I do believe eventually Russia would be in union with Rome...

    The Fatima Apparitions

The Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart isn't referring to Russians having this devotion except as a possible eventual result, someday. The Consecration means simply that the Pope would say a prayer entrusting Russia to Our Blessed Mother. That is what the word consecration means in...

    The Fatima Apparitions

I didn't mean this in terms of Church relations.. just that the Orthodox have way more in common with Catholics than any other faith or especially atheism My family is Russian... they grew up without any faith at all. There were Russians who kept their faith but they were few..

    The Fatima Apparitions

I'm not speaking of Church relations. There's something I read in a book that the more points a faith has in common with the Catholic Church, the better because God can use those true points to lead the person to the Church. I understand this presupposes that the Catholic Church is true and you...

    created/uncreated grace

    I understand it's a difference in theology

    created/uncreated grace

I thought you meant about Moses.. I was looking for it and couldn't remember where it could be found. I know there are some Church Fathers who spoke of these instances (Tabor, maybe Moses on Mt Sinai) in connection to uncreated light, - but it's unclear how this was meant.. in Catholic theology...

    The Fatima Apparitions

I wouldn't say it's erroneous... it only sounds erroneous from the Catholic perspective if you think that the whole point was to bring Russia back to Orthodoxy and then forever keep the Schism. But maybe it's part of a process, ultimately resulting in the end of the Schism and meanwhile...

    created/uncreated grace

In Catholic theology we truly do have God living in us.. I think these are slightly different points. We do encounter Him but as creatures, this is one way to explain it.. Here's a link explaining some difference in terminology that I just came across...

    created/uncreated grace

St John the Apostle? could you let me know in which book, the Gospel or one of the letters?

    created/uncreated grace

The idea of created grace doesn't mean that at one point it wasn't existing (as in your example of the Son), it means that there was a time when we weren't receiving it. Created grace seems to refer to the instance - to the event of its reception. I don't know if this example is good enough...

    created/uncreated grace

I haven't really looked into this, but - whenever there is miraculous light, we see it as miraculous but there's also the fact that we can see it with our eyes... how do we see spiritual things with our eyes? I guess I can't really answer the question though lack of knowledge, maybe there's...

    created/uncreated grace

Here is a quite informative post that I came across that brings up some good points :) the point I think could be elaborated more on is the idea that the Catholic Church disagreed with the East on the distinction of Essence and Energies (if the East means it as a formal distinction, not a...

    Orthodox View on Divorce?

Am I correct the Orthodox teach a marriage gets automatically (or at all) dissolved by adultery etc? That is what I read from an Orthodox source

    Orthodox View on Divorce?

Intent to baptize etc is part of the form in Catholic teaching.. for instance if a priest says the words of Consecration with the intent to teach seminarians, that's different than Mass

    Orthodox View on Divorce?

I read an Orthodox article and before asked on another forum about this... from my research it seems the Orthodox view is that the marriage gets automatically dissolved with certain actions. I would be open to correction though.. the Catholic view is that it doesn't dissolve.. we interpret Our...
