  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Anti-Semitism on the rise around the world

This is a confusing reply. First it seems to be a non-sequitur, no where does the article or poster mention the state of Israel and God's promises. Secondly, it could be interpreted to mean under certain circumstances it's Okay to kill random people at the beach. i.e. if they feel Israel is...

    Snake, Snake, Rattle and Roll

Interesting article, one thing I saw was that there is something called a "Snake Bandage". Used to wrap around the limb and slow the spread of venom. Much different than the razor blade and suction kits, they sell in the states. Looks like a much better idea.

Why Is It So Hard for Christians to Talk About Justice and Greed?

It's a worthy topic and would like to see the video. My only comment would be not to couch it with this statement. Do you find it hard to discuss? It hasn't been my experience that Christians shy away from the subject. So instead of engaging on this important subject, you get people reacting...

Do other Christians have trouble making friends?

It takes effort to make and keep friends. Be nice, don't be judgmental and reach out to others. I find it helpful to get involved in activities that involve people. Church, sports, clubs, groups, hobbies, etc. Put in more effort to the friendship than it feels like you're getting. Being...

Although I don't believe this apparently scientists believe life formed on its own

Just a note: Not all scientists believe life formed on its own. For those that do, what alternative do they have? If you rule out any sort of creative force all you are left with is chance. I don't believe there is any "undeniable proof or facts" to give them, just as they don't have proof...

    Struggling with feeling God’s presence

You're fine. We all feel distant or detached from God at times. God's presence can be very subtle, so much so we might not even notice it. Try just being still and listen for that small voice. When you don't hear it, don't worry just keep listening. Then the LORD said, “Go out and stand on...

A Christian being friends with a non-believer with a lying problem

It might depend on how you define "friendship". I have known compulsive liars, that I enjoyed socializing with. The two I'm thinking of were both entertaining, funny and good to talk with. Knowing they had a lying problem, I never got really close with them, but on a superficial level I...

Why Do Christians Resist the Idea of “Social Justice”? A Theological Question

Maybe it's the area I live in, but I don't see Christians resisting the idea. In fact it seems to be the local churches that do the most to help those in need. Though maybe I'm misunderstanding the question, I'm no expert, in fact I had to look up what "Social Justice" meant.

So, Is the Body Positivity Movement Still a Thing?

About 1 billion people worldwide are affected by obesity, and the World Health Organization (WHO) projects that the number of people with obesity could double by 2030. Around 733 million people faced hunger in 2023, equivalent to one in eleven people globally and one in five in Africa...
