  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Pro's and con's of using AI in political debate.

I do quite often. In fact I often go to the citations and link them like I organically found the article. You cannot tell the difference when I do that.

Imitatio Christi - is the following Biblical?

You cannot summarily dismiss the preceding verses. I'm not saying Paul did not have hardships - but he also had times of abundance. He learned to be content in both.

From AI is a valuable - easy reference system, similar to using Google, but faster to "I despise AI’s instant citations — they rob me of my noble art of winning debates through trivia hoarding and grammar policing, the true pillars of intellectual dominance." Thoughts? The AI system I use...

yes - they do. Bill Clinton 'rape' victim Juanita Broaddrick tells of lasting trauma of 1978 'attack' and claims another 'victim' has told her: 'There are more of us out there' Juanita Broaddrick, now a 73-year-old grandmother, claims Bill Clinton, now 69, raped her in a Little Rock hotel room...

Imitatio Christi - is the following Biblical?

On this we completely disagree - First, I am not speaking of oratory at all, but what Paul WROTE - Scripture is written: 1. Literal (includes historical) 2. Allegory 3. Poetic. Paul in the verses we are citing is writing literally Philipians 4:11 Not that I speak in regard to need, for I...

Imitatio Christi - is the following Biblical?

That is not exegetically sound. if he was speaking in metaphor, i could agree - however he was speaking literaly There is no rhetorical in scripture - The verses are literal, not metaphorical. Paul literally made tents to supply his financial needs Paul received monetary gifts to supply his...

Imitatio Christi - is the following Biblical?

That would be two things - not one. To be full and to be hungry - one end of a spectrum to another - (then in the same sentence) both to abound and to suffer need. There is no change in thought - The word ABOUND means to be abundantly furnished with, to have in abundance, abound in (a...

Imitatio Christi - is the following Biblical?

The bolded and underlined I concur. The assertion that Paul lived as an ascetic is partially correct - there were times that he indeed suffered want - but there were also times he experienced abundance. As evidenced in his own words Philipians 4:11 Not that I speak in regard to need, for I...
