  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    MARK OF THE BEAST - REVELATION 13-14; 17; 18

The ten horns are the ten toes. The connection between Daniel 2 and Daniel 7 is explicit. Revelation 13 references it directly. Daniel 7 shows that the ten horns would come after the fourth beast. The fourth beast was the Roman Republic (W). It became the Roman Empire when it conquered Egypt...

    MARK OF THE BEAST - REVELATION 13-14; 17; 18

The symbolism could still be relevant, but I don't think it's driving this particular interpretation. Daniel 2 shows us that the ten toes would try to cleave to one another but would ultimately fail. That is nationalism in a nutshell. I have not seen it. In John's time, the image was an image...

    Revelation 4 interpretation

    ### Traditional Jewish Assignments (most common version) Based on Midrash (e.g., Numbers Rabbah 2:7) and later sources like Rashi and the Zohar: - Judah (East) → Lion (because Judah is called a "lion’s whelp" in Genesis 49:9) - Reuben (South) → Man (because Reuben was the firstborn of a human...

    Revelation 4 interpretation

Something to consider is the tabernacle layout during the Exodus and Wandering. There were four camps of Israelites around the tabernacle, a camp for each direction. Judah, whose symbol was a Lion, was the east camp. Dan, the eagle, to the north. Ephraim the calf to the west. Reuben the man to...

    MARK OF THE BEAST - REVELATION 13-14; 17; 18

I'm a little late to this discussion. Sorry about that. Happy Advent though! A1. The everlasting gospel is mentioned in Revelation 1:5-6 (NASB1995). "And from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and released...

Anyone else have a unique eschatology?

I really respect your approach. I decided in my early 20's to not try to force puzzle pieces into places they didn't belong, no matter how similar they seemed. I guess it's a moreorless scientific approach to eschatology. I present a hypothesis, then I conduct a synopsis to see if that...

    Daniel 9:25's Decree

That's a very dismissive response. It is relevant. It's biblically and historically backed. What it is not is something regurgitated from Evangelical eschatologists. It's my own studies, of which I hold myself very critical. My aim is not to gather a following. It is discourse. If I present an...

Anyone else have a unique eschatology?

Mine are unique (I think). I've always been an out of the box thinker, as shown by my post today about the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem in Daniel 9:25.

    Daniel 9:25's Decree

I think we may have been interpreting the starting point of the seventy sevens prophecy incorrectly all along. What if the decree wasn't to be announced by a Persian king but announced by God through His prophets? Many think the decree began either with Cyrus's release of the exiles or in the...

Ten Kingdoms In The End Times

My current take on the ten horns. I’m flexible, of course, and not certain on the eastern two. Could be Iraq and Iran. Jordan could be noncombatant, as has been the case in recent history. It’s military also isn’t the biggest in the region. My thoughts are that these kingdoms will unite...

Ten Kingdoms In The End Times

Something I was researching might give us an idea. In the Old Testament, during the reign of Hezekiah, Israel’s most righteous king after David, the Assyrian Empire was conquering the Middle East and claiming its role as the first “world” empire. Assyria stretched from Persia and Media in the...

    Signs of the Times

I find it interesting that the first modern UFO sightings occurred less than a year before Israel became a nation. The war in heaven must have ended before 1947 with Satan and his angels being cast down to earth. The war in heaven was based on the supposition that the people of Israel failed...

    Hezekiah

This happened during the time of Ahaz, prior to the reign of Hezekiah. It was significant because the dominant threat against Judah at that time was the alliance of the northern kingdom (now occupied by Hezbollah in Lebanon) and the kingdom of Aram (current day Syria with its capital in...

The Name and the Number of the Beast

That definitely would have been provocative. I'm not closed off to the idea. Domitian did claim to be a god, encouraged Anatolian cults to worship him, and did censor the public on religious matters. If he found anyone deviating from traditional Roman religion (like the vestal virgins), he...

The Name and the Number of the Beast

A constant theme in Revelation is the two-fold witness: 1) Keeping the testimony (name) of Jesus and 2) obeying God’s commands (works). The seven churches were judged along a scale of how well they kept that two-fold witness. Similarly, the mark of the beast is described as the name of the...
