  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hopefully not long now

Two days ago the Callie cat started dying. Jim was home from school with a sore throat. He was lying on the couch and said he wished Callie would come snuggle with him. So I went and found her in the basement on the laundry room floor, a rather odd place for her to be chilling out. I picked her up and carried her upstairs, grabbing the claw clippers as we walked past. While I clipped her claws she really didn't protest too much which was also kind of odd. Since then she has been lying in the "frozen turkey" possition in various areas of the house. She has peed in several other places besides the litter box. (yay) The poor thing has trouble walking, stands all wobbly, won't lift her head, is breathing hard and gurgly. I found some extensive information on the web about chronic renal failure, and that is what I know she has, without needing to take her to a vet for an official diagnosis. There's nothing you can do besides ease syptoms. I am praying that God will help her fall asleep forever very, very soon. She is suffering now, and it's late Saturday and obviously no vet clinics are open. It's her time to go. But she's hanging on. I'm not dealing well with the cat pee. Seems like such a selfish thing to think about. Cats in CRF tend to put out high volumes of urine but it is very dilute, which is a tiny bit more bearable. She whizzed all over Kerstie's pink quilt and it was such a huge puddle I though for sure it must've been Henry who took a leak, but the odor was relatively low, so I am pretty sure it was her. Oh man, she's just standing there wheezing and wobbling, eyes all suken in. Poor thing.
