  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

“You are near, O Lord, And all Your commandments are truth. Of old I have known from Your testimonies That You have founded them forever.” (Psalm 119:151-152 NASB) I was part of the gatherings of the church from infancy on up. My parents were part of that same church fellowship all 86 years of...
“To sum up, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted, and humble in spirit; not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you might inherit a blessing. For, “The one who desires life, to love...
“Therefore, putting aside all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander, like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation, if you have tasted the kindness of the Lord. “And coming to Him as to a living stone which has...
“Jude, a bond-servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to those who are the called, beloved in God the Father, and kept for Jesus Christ: May mercy and peace and love be multiplied to you. “Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I felt the...
“Zion will be redeemed with justice And her repentant ones with righteousness. But transgressors and sinners will be crushed together, And those who forsake the Lord will come to an end.” (Isaiah 1:27-28 NASB1995) Zion, under the New Covenant, is in reference to the city of God, the people of...
I am still reading in Joshua 24. Joshua had just given the children of Israel a word from the Lord. And then he told them, therefore, that they were now to fear (honor, respect, obey) the Lord and serve him in sincerity and in truth (no fakery, no lies). They were to put away all their idols and...
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love He predestined us to adoption as sons...
“Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God. Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves.”...
“Such confidence we have through Christ toward God. Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God, who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the...
“In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will, to the end that we who were the first to hope in Christ would be to the praise of His glory.” (Ephesians 1:11-12 NASB1995) The subject matter is the...
“Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you; but to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that also at the revelation of His glory you may rejoice with...
“Therefore remember that formerly you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called “Uncircumcision” by the so-called “Circumcision,” which is performed in the flesh by human hands— remember that you were at that time separate from Christ, excluded from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to...
“Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, but like the Holy One who called you...
Today I am reading in Hebrews 3-4. And the primary message in both of these chapters is that, as those who testify to having faith in Jesus Christ, which saves us from our sins, and which promises us eternal life with God, we must be careful that we don’t respond to God’s voice speaking to us as...
“But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous...
I am reading in Ephesians 5:15-20. In the previous verses we read about all the things that we are to put out of our lives, as followers of Jesus Christ, i.e. anything which God regards as sinful. And we read that anyone who makes a practice of sinning, and not of obedience to God, will have no...
“Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we received mercy, we do not lose heart, but we have renounced the things hidden because of shame, not walking in craftiness or adulterating the word of God, but by the manifestation of truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight...
“The Old Cross and the New” is an essay by A.W. Tozer, first published in 1946 in “The Alliance Witness,” which was the official weekly magazine of the “Christian and Missionary Alliance” (C&MA), a missions focused church denomination of which he was a part. A.W. Tozer served as the magazine’s...
