There are a lot of things that have been happening lately. School is a major thing for me, since I'm in the twelfth grade and I seem to be denoted to have to set an example. I have problems controlling my temper, however. That is my problem, one of my main ones along with lust. To give an example..I almost got into a fight with a ninth grader because I got so angry, and also I call my fellow man names when I get angry. How do I prevent both the anger and the lust in a mature way..or either get rid of it when it occurs? God bless.

For anger the big thing is to step back and cool down. Some people used to recommend counting to 10. My hero, the poet Dante, recommended this prayer (the Agnus Dei):

Lamb of God, Who takes away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
Lamb of God, Who takes away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
Lamb of God, Who takes away the sins of the world, grant us Your peace.
But stepping back and praying are the two big things, however you do it.

God bless,

Hello.

I was watching on TV about a doctor having the same anger problems as you, except MUCH worse, he was.

But you know what he did? He turned to the book of Proverbs in the Bible. And also, he prayed. I suggest you do the same, my friend.

Pray and seek God....ask Him to fill you with His Spirit and ask God to change you to be the person He wants you to be. Read the Bible more often and get to know God better. Walk close with Him.

Prayer and daily reading of God's Word is extremely important. I would also recommend that you try to identify situations that cause you to become angry, and try to avoid them if possible. For example, if watching sports on TV made me always get really angry & upset, it would probably be a good idea to try to stop watching sports on TV so often! :)

Keep reading the Bible and praying. Learn how to be humble to other people and turn the other cheek when they despitefully use you. I know, it isn't easy, and we all fail and make mistakes, but we never quite or give up trying to follow His Word. Hide His Word in your heart.

Ps 119:11 Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You!

Mat. 5:8 "You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’
39 "But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.

43 "You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’
44 "But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,
