Well I don't know scripturely, but personally I don't think so. I mean, as long as it doesn't get to the point of worship. Parents are full of pride of their kids all the time, and surely God is proud of us sometimes when we overcome temptations and the evils that plague us.

Well, I did a search, and I found that everyone was against it. But those were cases of OVER self-pride.

Sorry bub.

Pride is tough to explain. It's ok to be proud of your children, but when you make decisions because of your pride, then you are on shaky ground.

For example: I am so proud of my home built sports car that if it were to break, I would rather spend $8,000 to fix it rather than $2000 for another car, even if I didn't have the money. Even if the broken car was worth $2000 I would not sell it to buy a good used car.

Pride for God is ok. But your beleifs are sometimes viewed by others as opinion. If you through pride for God defend your beleifs then others just see you as trying to force your opinion on them, and it can turn some away from God.

Sorry, no scripture on hand.

Pride is totally fine and ok by God because it is an emotion, and God created it. Pride however can be abused, as when pride replaces soemthing over the throne of your heart with something else other than God - that is when pride leads to sin.

There is nothing wrong with feeling good about yourself, after all, God did create you.

There is nothing wrong with being prideful or boasting of others.

It is when you replace God who is the Lord of your heart, with something else, then that is when pride has led you to sin.

I don't think it's a sin to have pride. A little bit is okay. But I grew up in a "proud" family, and it sucked. As far as I can see, pride doesn't do anybody any good. "After pride comes destruction". I'm so paranoid of it that I don't want anything to do with it.

But I remember in the scriptures somewhere that says that one proud & delighted in having God as our Father.

Every scripture I read about boasting indicated it was wrong. Saying that your child is a nice , kind individual is one thing, not considered pride or boasting. But bragging about your child's achievements to outdo another parent's comments is rude & boastful.
Tough question, but pride in character or behavior would not be sinful for we strive to be blameless. When we boast or are proud of things accomplished in the outside world, I would think this constitutes pride in the wrong things of this world.
