View Full Version : You can post IMAGES if you have over 100 posts!

We have re-enabled images back into the forums.

Only members who have a post count of 100 or more can post images in these forums.

Please observe our Forum Rules (http://www.christianforums.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=NS-FAQ&file=index&myfaq=yes&id_cat=2&categories=Christian+Forum+Rules) when posting images.

Basically you use the [img] tag. The image will need to be hosted off site - just place the URL of the image between the [img] tags. You can do this automatically using the automatic code buttons in the "New Thread" or "Post Reply" pages.

Please use this wisely - any member abusing this will be banned without warning. You cannot use the [img] tags in your signature. There is a limit of 5 images in each post (including smilies).

You can still use the smilies! :)

We're just talking about other pictures, like if you wanted to share a picture of something in your post.

But smilies can be used all the time!

I am working on the smilie bug right now...

Smilies should work at all times... only the [img] tag should not be allowed...

Okay, while I try to fix the smilie bug, I have REVERTED BACK TO THE NORMAL STATE OF AFFAIRS:

which means that [img] tags are now DISABLED, but SMILIES are able to be used by ALL.

Sorry for the inconvenience of not being able to use our wonderful smilies!!! :D

God bless! I will try to resolve this as quickly as possible.

I'm not poop on a stick! My best friend says that all the time, and recently she's started to make me pick it up :help:

About the smilie thing, I took all of them out when I first submitted it, and then edited it to add them. Tedious, but it got the point across :D But they seem to be working fine now

OKAY - I FIXED THE BUG!!!

The [img] tags are now in operation for all members with over 100 posts!

All you members with over 100 posts - enjoy!!!

In the meantime, members with less than 100 posts can still post smilies as usual. Please let me know if there are any problems!

:D

There is another smiley bug. If you access this system from a text-only connection, the smilies disappear. I suppose this isn't a bug; very few people still use text connections. Still, if there is a way to make smilies come through as text-smilies, that'd be nice.

Hi mac_philo,

Unfortunately, how PHP works is that when it renders the HTML page, it changes the smiley from text to HTML. So you will not be able to see the text smiley no matter what, since the HTML page rendered is independent on type of browser. I cannot make it show both the HTML (to link to the smiley image)AND the text smilie as well.

I apologize for the inconvenience.

No, we do not allow the uploading of files to our server as this would be an additional strain to our server resources and disk space. :)

Just use one of the free website hosts to host the images and link to it.
