though it is locked up very securely in Rome, it was originally stolen during the fourth crusade. We talked about this in Sunday school but i wanted to get a few opinions.

My opinion: It "belongs" to all Christians everywhere. Rome is generous to guard it for us. It will go on exhibition again in 2025 as I understand. I read the Pope's assessment of it, online and he was very, very diplomatic about the whole thing. I hope to see it myself someday, God willing that I live that long! :)

HommeDeDieu, good to hear from you today!

I have a copy of the Shroud of Turin that someone purchased for us. We had it framed and our Orthodox Priest blessed it.

It is very interesting how this Shroud seems to be influencing how Icons of Christ are written.

Regarding the Icon of Christ, have you read the following thread started by an Orthodox Teenager:

I didn't want you to miss this one!

Yours in Christ,
Elizabeth

hey

I loved the essay, thanks for posting the link.

Also, any good websites to buy a copy of the shroud? Would make a great item to display in my room.

Thanks

-Nick

Hi again! I found out that the Shroud is currently at it's "home" in Turin, Italy, at the St. John the Baptist

Here's where you can buy a copy:http://www.shroud.com/menu.htm

This is Barry Schwortz' website. Interestingly, he is a researcher and a Jew, who worked on an official examination of the Shroud as a technician. He is a firm believer that the Shroud is real, and he maintains this website very well with current info.
