Removed the post preview features from forums

I have removed the following features from the site:

1) Mouseover first post preview of threads
2) Mouseover preview of PMs
3) Mouseover preview of search results

By doing this, the loading of forums, PMs and search results should be a bit quicker.

I am trying to optimize the speed of the pages loading. Hope you guys can notice a difference! :)

I kind of miss this feature actually. But it's not a big deal. My computer's such a dinosaur anyway--everything is slow, no matter what you do here my computer will always be slow. :(

Erwin, I am not writing this to complain, but if I were the owner of a site, I would like to know what users like and dislike. So, I very much liked the mouseover preview. My computer is a dinosaur as well, and I have only one phone line for calls and internet, and for me to open all the threads that catch my eye takes a long time. So I will not be able to visit as many threads as I would like to, and will probubly miss out on some that I would really have liked or learned from, because the 'title' didn't really describe what was in them. You can't judge a book by its cover!! I only say this because I don't believe that I have an original thought, so there must be others who feel the same way. I still think this is the best site ever, and I still apriciate all you do for us. Be blessed.

I try my best to listen to everyone.

In this case, the post preview feature does slow down the loading up of pages considerably, as the site will need to go through every thread, copy the first post, and insert it into the "alt" tag of every thread title - it is like loading up every single thread on the page each time you enter the forum! That is a lot of bandwidth!

I am trying to streamline the site and optimize it for members.

Thank you for your reply. I know that you cannot please all the people all the time, and there is so much more to love on this site, that this one thing will not keep me away!!
