Help!

The power has been out for an hour (I'm posting from my laptop on dial up). I don't know when it will come back up.

There is about a pint of ice cream in the freezer. Should I eat it all now or hope the power comes back?

No need to vote anymore! The power is back up and the servers are rebooting.

Hurray! The ice cream is saved!

And you thought you had the perfect excuse. Never mind. ;)

I'm sure there are some advantages to having the power back on. Ours was off for several hours one evening last month and it was rather nice. we all went out in the garden for various reasons until it got dark, and then sat together by candlelight for a bit. usually the kids disappear into their own rooms.

Now be honest, aren't you just a little disappointed that the power came on before you had a chance to down that ice cream??!

Actually, I was sort of dreading the ice cream headache! :)

Turn the power off and make an ice cream milkshake! (McCravey drank a couple of them during Frances days)

If the power was out, I would eat the ice cream.

If you don't open the freezer door, things will remain frozen for several hours owing to the insulative qualities and retained coldness of the freezer.

Your comment about "ice cream and German theologians" in my thread in the Official Area, though, worries me -- I am trying to contemplate what a Schleiermacher sundae would look like, and not liking the mental image! ;)

Sort of like the beer milkshake in "Cannery Row"!

The ice cream is mine.

The ice cream is mine.By the time it was shipped off to you, Erwin, it would be sour and not ice, not a pretty thought. If you are ever up in the Northwest of the USA we will take you to where they have the best ice cream around here.
