I just skimmed the first page, but that is sad. It's frustrating to see how such a large group of people have "missed the point" as it were.

:sigh:  I agree; when I read a post like that, it sounds to me as if they are looking to convince themselves of their own beliefs; they does not come across as a legitimate seeker interested in learning and sharing. Is it permitted to go to that forum and respond or against the rules? I would be interested in seeing the response.

i will now restrain myself from starting a "why do some denominations believe such false doctrine spoon fed to them by one man" thread.

I noticed that I can not post there, I supose because I am Messianic and not Catholic.(Thank God! may he be blessed forever for his mercy toward me in this reguard.) It amazes me that they are can not understand why Jews will not accept that their Jesus is the Christ. It wanted to scream at them,"BECAUSE OF THE VIOLENCE YOU HAVE DONE TO THE JEWS IN THE NAME OF JESUS !!!!"

I second that(screaming at them about that, not the actual violence part  ).

Eh, I wouldn't even worry about it. I'm sure there's a bunch of stuff in this forum that has non-Messianics shaking their heads. ;)

I just looked up the OBOB rules and I don't see why you couldn't post; here they are:

All Christians are welcome and are invited to discuss issues with us. We only ask two things in return:

1) This is a forum made up of Catholics who are in communion with the Bishop of Rome, Pope John Paul II and the Holy See. We would ask that discussions of a doctrinal nature please bear this in mind as the model to adhere to; although there are varying definitions of what "catholic" is, in order to dispel confusion among non-Catholic visitors and disruption of the forum as a whole, this is the definition of "Catholic" for this forum.

2) Those with disagreements or issues about Catholic faith and doctrine are asked to post respectfully and politely; you may "agree to disagree", but you may not disparage, denigrate, or libel Catholicism, nor may you post links to anti-Catholic sites, pictures, etc. Die-hard anti-Catholics are firmly asked to take such material elsewhere; this is a discussion forum, not a debate forum. Feel free to ask questions; but do not slam Catholics, Catholicism, or the Catholic Church.

Everyone is welcome to post in this forum, and we look forward to stimulating discussions.

I happen to be an ex-catholic for many reasons and am speechless over this post but not experienced enough an apologist to respond. I agree with you 100%.

Shalom,
Sarahpim

Baptist to Catholic- "i told you we were supposed to dunk!"

MJ to Baptist- "I told you obedience= love!"

Pentocostal to Baptist- "I told you that people can backslide!"

Catholic to MJ- ....sorry cant think of anything right now, but you get the picture!

1) the fact is that we are NOT catholics, and this is perhaps one reason (among others) AND perhaps why they are not Messianics - I am sure they are JUST as dismayed by some of our beliefs and doctrines as we are by theirs

2) we don't post rebuttal in their forum for the same reason they are not permitted to post rebuttal in ours - the denominational forums are sanctuaries for the individual denominations and such grace and peace as we desire to have from others we should willing afford to them as well

3) IF one wants to rebut they can go to GA and do it there - HOWEVER I urge you to consider what negative attitudes, attention and firestorm you will attract to our MJ forum - both in the general forum community and that which will bleed over into the MJF. Let's face it - the majority of Christians on CF are catholics - so, we can either go planting spurs under their saddle blankets trying to force them to change their mind and bring dissention and attacks down upon us and our forum OR do our utmost to preserve our sanctuary and can spend our energy reaching out to those who come to us asking earnest questions...... consider :)

Yes please please please don't go into OBOB and start problems.

They are inundtated with attacks and have a pretty had line on things there as do we.

I posted that link for you all for general information and education of what
the "christian community" as a whole has to say. This is another side of Replacement Theology. Knowing what it says and how it says it I think is important to us. There is no reason to debate. Just learn.
