Divorced or Separated (http://www.christianforums.com/f246)
A new forum for the support of divorced or separated Christians.

Divorce is never something that anyone intends to happen to a marriage. However, more and more Christian marriages end in separation and divorce. This forum offers support for such Christians - it is a place where this emotive topic can be discussed, and prayer and advice shared, in safe environment.

Erwin, can I ask that this be in an open forum area? Or do you just want to help those Christians going through this?

Bump. Did you notice this Erwin, or are you just too busy again? I am getting a divorce and would like to be permitted to post in a forum for support.

I am sympathetic to the idea; however, the issues of Christians and non-Christians getting divorced may be very different.

However, perhaps the thing to do would be to address religion-specific issues in the Congregation forums, or something similar, as they aren't the same for all branches of the Christian faith.

Outstanding!

Christians sorely need a place to edify and encourage one another concerning this issue.

I have thought about this over a few days. My first reaction was "What good would it be for someone who has turned their back on Christianity?" and within minutes decided that was wrong.

This is a community. Indeed the entire Church is a community that should be a witness to God partly by being community. Lanakila, and many others that would not call themselves Christians are involved in this community.

Are they there simply so we can project our sense of mission onto them, to be a foil for the exposition of right doctrine or to participate and see the out working of our theology as practical faith in action? If they ask us as a community for help and support can we rightly reject such a request and remain true to Christ?

I do not seek to challenge or anticipate any such decision, only I don't know where else to post about these issues. It would be great if we could extend to those of other faiths Christian minstry as a witness and out of compassion. I have no idea of the practical problems of doing this as they may issues about moderating forums that are opened up and about if this the right place to offer counciling services. If there is any way we can help, particularly those who have been with us a long time, can we please find a way of it is reasonably practicable to do so? This could be a better argument for Christianity than all reasoning in General Apologetics.

Yours,
Midge.

Sorry, just saw this.

Since Christians and non-Christians have different views on divorce, I shall keep the divorce forum Christian-only for the moment.
