A short prayer for the changing seasons, and the changes in our lifes:

Because you are with me, Lord,
I can wait in patience and in hope
for the new life you bring.

Sing out your joy to the Creator, good people,
for praise is fitting for loyal hearts.
Give thanks to the Creator upon the harp.
With a ten-stringed lute sing songs.

O sing a new song;
Play skillfully and loudly so all may hear.
For the word of the Creator is faithful
and all God's works are to be trusted.

The Creator collects the waves of the ocean
and gathers up the depths of the sea.
Let all the earth fear the Creator,
all who live in the world honor God.

Increase my faith, dear Jesus. Humble me and teach me to pray. Sanctify me and make me an instrument of Thy Peace. How much I love You Lord and long to be with You! Fill me with Your grace, that I may serve You to Your glory. I am but dust. Dead. Only animated through the breath of God. And only made alive through You, my dear Savior. Amen!!!

Luther's morning prayer:
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

I give thanks unto Thee, heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ Thy dear Son, that Thou hast protected me through the night from all danger and harm; and I beseech Thee to preserve and keep me, this day also, from all sin and evil; that in all my thoughts, words and deeds, I may serve and please Thee. Into Thy hands I commend my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let Thy holy angel have charge concerning me, that the wicked one have no power over me. Amen.

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. Psalms 19:14

David's Prayer:

Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Do not cast me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me. (Psalm 51:10-11)

My God loves me
His Graceful love endures
And I will live like a child
Held in love secure

Mark 4: 21-23

Jesus said to them:
"Is a lamp acquired to be put
under a bushel basket or hidden under a bed?
Is it not meant to be put on a stand?
Things are hidden only to be reveal at a later time;
they are covered so to be brought out to the open.
Let the one who has ears to hear me, hear

Luke 15: 1 - 10

The tax collectors and "sinners" were all gathering around to hear Jesus.

But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered,
"This man welcomes sinners and eats with them."

Then Jesus told them this parable: "Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them.
Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country
and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?
And when he finds it,
he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home.
Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says,
"Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep."
I tell you that in the same way
there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents
than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.

"Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins
and loses one.
Does she not light a lamp,
sweep the house and search carefully
until she finds it?
And when she finds it,
she calls her friends and neighbors together and says,
Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.'
In the same way, I tell you,
there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God
over one sinner who repents."

Ps 118
Psalms 118

118:1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good;his love endures forever.
2 Let Israel say:"His love endures forever." 3 Let the house of Aaron say:"His love endures forever." 4 Let those who fear the LORD say:"His love endures forever."

5 In my anguish I cried to the LORD,and he answered by setting me free. 6 The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid.What can man do to me? 7 The LORD is with me; he is my helper.I will look in triumph on my enemies.

8 It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man. 9 It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in princes.

10 All the nations surrounded me,but in the name of the LORD I cut them off. 11 They surrounded me on every side,but in the name of the LORD I cut them off. 12 They swarmed around me like bees,but they died out as quickly as burning thorns;in the name of the LORD I cut them off.

13 I was pushed back and about to fall,but the LORD helped me. 14 The LORD is my strength and my song;he has become my salvation.

15 Shouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the righteous:"The LORD's right hand has done mighty things! 16 The LORD's right hand is lifted high;the LORD's right hand has done mighty things!"

17 I will not die but live,and will proclaim what the LORD has done. 18 The LORD has chastened me severely,but he has not given me over to death.
19 Open for me the gates of righteousness;I will enter and give thanks to the LORD. 20 This is the gate of the LORD through which the righteous may enter. 21 I will give you thanks, for you answered me;you have become my salvation.

22 The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone; 23 the LORD has done this,and it is marvelous in our eyes. 24 This is the day the LORD has made;let us rejoice and be glad in it.

25 O LORD, save us;O LORD, grant us success. 26 Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD.From the house of the LORD we bless you. 27 The LORD is God,and he has made his light shine upon us.With boughs in hand, join in the festal procession up to the horns of the altar.

28 You are my God, and I will give you thanks;you are my God, and I will exalt you.

29 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good;his love endures forever.

Psalm 103

I want to call God by name,
the holy God, as truly as I live.
I thank God from the bottom of my heart
and I will forget none of God's benefits.

God is the forgiveness of my sins
and will heal me, time after time.
God fills my days with happiness
and like an eagle my youth revives. People--their days are like the grass,
they bloom like flowers in the open field;
the wind blows and they are gone.
Only the love of God will be lasting.

Luke 17: 20-21

Once on being asked by the Pharisees
when the reign of God would come, Jesus replied:
"You cannot tell by careful watching
when the reign of God will come.
Neither is it a matter of reporting
that it is here or there.
The reign of God is already in your midst."

Praise God from whom all blessings flow;

Praise Him, all creatures here below;

Praise Him above, ye heavenly host;

Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

Amen.

Happy are they who observe Your decrees
who seek You with all their hearts.
They do nothing wrong
and walk in Your ways.

I will meditate on Your precepts
and concentrate on Your ways.
I will delight in Your statutes
and never forget Your words.

Open my eyes that I may marvel
at the wonders of Your law.
Guide me down the path of Your commands,
for I delight in it. --Psalm 119

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

I give thanks unto Thee, heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ Thy dear Son, that Thou hast this day so graciously protected me, and I beseech Thee to forgive me all my sins, and the wrong which I have done, and by Thy great mercy defend me from all the dangers and perils of this night. Into Thy hands I commend my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let Thy holy angel have charge concerning me, that the wicked one have no power over me. Amen.
