Are these people for real, should I look up to them, Rob Parsley, Benny Hinn, and others on that channel? I watched it a lot yesterday and it really hurt my day I thought, they said, one of the older women talking about how God loves muslims and the Bible to the Quaran said it would be the best day of my life or something, and really hurt my situation. Didn't pray couldn't for some reason, just recently been saved, but God's plan for me is in real jeopordy, and he should me what it will be like, there's more at stake for me and others than I realize, I'm just 20. Anyway is this Trinity Broadcasting Network something I should forget about watching????

You're much better off ignoring TBN altogether. There is a lot of false teaching on that channel and Christians have no business listening to Benny Hinn in the first place.
If you want to hear some good preaching, why not check out http://www.oneplace.com/ministries and people like Adrian Rodgers, Bruce Sofia, Chuck Betters, Joe Stowell, Steve Brown and people like that.
To my knowledge, all of the preachers there hold to the principles of orthodoxy, which is a heck of a lot better than you're going to find on TBN.

Anyway is this Trinity Broadcasting Network something I should forget about watching????#1 - People who say they have all the answers are usually full of "it."
#2 - I believe there are some good, solid men/women of God on all the religious channels. That's where discernment comes in.
#3 - (and most importantly) - God's plan for you is never in jeorpardy. His plan is His plan. Your fulfillment of the plan might be shakey from time to time, but as long as you consistnetly turn to Him for answers, you're in good hands. M

I keep sinning, keeping me from being able to pray, but thanks for the help MichaelFJF and 12volt_man. I think it, TBN helped me some though. (Can't really say I'm a christian but have been saved.) <- can that be true?

No, you can't be saved and not be a christian. A christian is one who believes and follows Christ. This faith brings salvation. The name "christian" gets thrown around pretty loosely these days. Even a jew who becomes a messianic jew is now a christian(one who follows Christ).
You can call yourself whatever you want as long as you believe(with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength) on the Lord Jesus Christ and confess with your mouth you will be saved.
There are definitely some good bible teachers on TBN, but lots of heresy. I agree with MichaelFJF. At least it's better than MTV anyway!!

Just because you're a Christian now doesn't mean that all of a sudden you don't sin anymore. You're still going to sin.
I know that can make it hard to pray but you're still forgiven. Confess it and move on. When you don't pray, that just makes it worse. That's how people's heart's become hardened to God because, even though we're forgiven in God's eyes, the consequences of sin still remain.
I look at it this way. Sin is like a brick. Each unconfessed sin is like adding one of those bricks to a wall between you and God. Build it high enough and it just makes it harder and harder to hear from Him and build a relationship with Him.
If you're saved, nothing can damage your union with God but unconfessed sin can damage your communion with God.
Can't really say I'm a christian but have been saved. can that be true?[/QUOTE]
If you're saved, then you're a Christian. If you're worried that you're not as good a Christian as you ought to be, the good news is, you don't have to be. Christ is still the Savior He promised He'd be and that's plenty enough to take up the slack.

wow,
my church is leads a ministry that has been the number 1 watched show in tbn more than once, and theres nothing heretical about my church.
were not perfect, but were not heretics.
and man if we think our church is never going to attacked and called heretics, were wrong, or were arent doing the Lords will.
i have found that a man with a critical and evil spirit, can never be satisfied.
i love tbn.
you find false teachers everywhere, and there on tbn too.
there are many things on tbn that i dont agree with, but alot that i do agree with too.
but as a whole, i like tbn, because it does have alot of good stuff, you just have to filter out the bad, like you do with every other church channel.

I'm a bit put off by the Vegas sets, the Rolex watches, the pink hair, and the non-Biblical basis of many of their teachings. As an inspirational source, I'd suggest the Christian Research Institute website, which is led by the "Bible Anwer Man", Hank Hannegraf. I find their teachings to be biblically sound. By the way, be wary of people like Benny Hinn and the "Word of Faith" movement in particular. Dangerous, anti-Christian doctrine.

the only legitimate folks on TBN are the following:
Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron of the Way of the Master tv show
Greg Laurie
D. James Kennedy
Charles Stanley
Hal Lindsey
Ed Hindson
Adrian Rogers
Jack Hayford
Zola Levitt
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I would avoid the WORD OF FAITH PREACHERS such as:
Benny Hinn (the fake faith healer who also threatens to harm his critics children)
Joyce Meyer (who says it is okay to abuse church funds to buy 5 million dollar homes for herself
T.D. Jakes
Juanita Bynum (who is a alleged Prophet and also was the woman who had the Big Wedding on TBN last year that many felt was a insult to Christian Television everywhere or was that someone else
Joel Osteen (who's father by the way was a WOF PREACHER as well)
Kenneth Copeland
Steve Brock (who is a accomplice of Benny Hinn in many of Hinn's lies)
Fred Price
(Fred Price is another high-living evangelical superstar. He tells his audience, “I drive a Rolls Royce because I'm following Jesus' steps.” Price also has said, “It's easier to be persecuted while driving a Rolls Royce.)
Jesse Duplantis (who believes there is sex in Heaven)
Kim Clement (false prophet)
Paul Crouch (has obession with calling his critics HERETIC HUNTERS or HERESY HUNTERS and also covered knowingly and intentionally covered up the death of FALSE PROPHET Richard Eby

"But seek first His Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well" (Mat. 6:33 NIV).

Hi, I'm a Christian NOOB , but GOD used TBN to get me to repent. I don't understand doctrine....i don't know about Lutherans, protestants...or any of that. I was watching TBN and i repented. Some of the messages that are taught seem to contradict others, though. The more I look into Christianity...the more i see conflicting views...on nearly EVERYTHiNG. It's like Christians don't agree. I just don't get it. What's with these church denominations...people want GOD, not 8 different meanings/doctrines for what one piece of text says? Can't the church's just hold a summit and ask GOD what is true????
I am grateful for TBN, but many times i feel i need to really learn from GOD and on TBN i hear a lotta sermons on prosperity....which i don't mind, but sometimes it seems like that's 80% of the messages on TBN. Yes, i have given to TBN.... i gave them a large sum of money, but i look at it as me giving for GOD's cause. The only thing that kinda bugs about giving to them was that they were saying that GOD said whoever gave would get 30...60....100-fold back...and they said it would happen within a certain date....but for me....I have not seen 30, 60 OR one-hundred-fold that i KNOW of within that period of time(30 days). According to their schedule...i should have received nearly a year ago i think. Still....I am glad that i have given into a cause in order to spread the Gospel. Besides, Jesus did say, "Give and it shall be given..." so...i guess it will happen according to GOD's time and not TBN's. To be honest...i have a hard time watching some of the people on TBN because some of them seem like they are just putting on a show...so I just turn it off sometimes. I don't know what GOd has told them or what gifts he has given them....and I don't know them well enough to know whether they have "motives"....so the best way to keep myself in check when it comes to judging them is to just turn TBN off sometimes.
BTW...Benny Hinn says he is coming to my city(beaumont) in March. I have never been to one of his crusades so i might go...just to go. It might be hard for me to go, though....I think everybody in my family thinks Hinn is a fraud(my dad says they ran him outta town last time he was here with his crusade), but i think he is funny and i dig his accent. I have never seen him take any credit for any healings, but i did see the DATELINE featuring B. HINN. I gotta say...they made him look awfully suspicious, but then...they made Jesus look suspicious too.
So, i don't really know what to say about TBN....because it IS hard to watch preachers and hosts on TBN talk about needing money when they have suits, cars, mansions and all kinds of luxuries and i am nearly homeless. I am glad for them that they have things though, because i wouldn't want everyone to live like me.
Having said all that...it's still just cool to see the bible preached on TV. Thank GOD!!!

Rod and Benny are a bit much some times .... we are instructed to " work out our own salvation with fear and trembling ; to try the words of others against the word of God , test it " For we will be judged on what we do and believe .... if you do not like one particuar preacher ...

Having said all that...it's still just cool to see the bible preached on TV. Thank GOD!!!Not that I'm an expert, but I'd be very careful whom I give my money to. I agree that TBN has brought people to Christ, but I really question their "Cult of Personalities". In other word, the importance of the messenger comes to overshadow the message.
I'd pick up a few books before looking at TV. "Mere Christianity" by CS Lewis, "The Case for Faith" by Lee Strobel, and anything written by Billy Graham. Also, Dietrich Bonhoeffer (sp?) is an axcellent apologist for the faith, although a bit deep.
As far as Benny Hinn, his preaching is almost as ludicrous as his hairstyle. I'm not trying to be judgmental, merely discerning. A friend of mine was invited to lunch with him only after a SUBSTANTIAL cash gift. Do some website research on this man, and you'll begin to get the picture.
As far as discovering God, all that really helps me is to keep my nose buried in the Bible.
Good Luck to You, My Friend...

While I greatly appreciate the ministries of those on TBN, such as Adrian Rogers, who hold to orthodoxy inspite of the heresy that TBN endorses, the bottom line is that Christians have no business watching TBN.
About two years ago, our cable company asked it's customers to vote to see which channels they wanted dropped and which they wanted added. I'm happy to say that the churches in our area lobbied hard to have MTV and TBN removed.

Cheebo: yes, God can use TBN to help you repent. He can use anything to help you repent. He can use a non-Christian as well. He can use the Koran in cases where it's similar to Christian doctrine (there are some similarities).
That doesn't mean you should follow them or become a Muslim. what makes the difference in the end, is what they teach. is it biblical? by all means NO. it's not. and the two most blasphemous teachings of the WOF-teachers are:
1: the jds-teachings, which claims Jesus became pure evil three hours before He died physically and then paid the true penalty of sin in hell. this is pure blasphemy and completely contra-biblical.
2: the teaching that all Christians are equal to God and therefore are little messiahs and gods of our own. God says He is the ONLY God and besides Him, there is NO ONE.
and to DLT:
yes, we are to be friendly with each other and keep peace between us as far as it is possible, but when it comes to false teachers and teachings, we are not to be afraid to be strict with each other, as long as it is done in love for one another.
we must NEVER compromise the cross or the blood of Christ, we must never compromise the word of God.

I see Charles Stanley on PAX and also Zola Levitt is on there and I wish Greg Laurie and Adrian Rogers would move over to PAX but the fact that there are no other Christian TV Networks competing with TBN shows why folks like Greg Laurie sadly have to be associated with Heretics such as Paul "Covers Up Death of Richard Eby for Profit" Crouch

No , ask questions , look for some one who can strengthen you where you are at now . DLT has recommended an alternative site and other ministers ... many of them are good men : Jack Hayford , Charles Stanley , Zola Levitt ...
I had trouble with Ken Copeland , John Hagee , and a few others ... were blunt , were correct , and I was not at that point in my walk yet ...
All ministries have some flakes .... TBN , INSP , EWTN ... but do not throw out the baby with the bathwater or flush everyone , for 1-2 turn you off ...
Kenneth Copeland is a joke in many people's eyes and why his tv "ministry" is still around baffles me but then again BET has on Sunday's Robert Tilton and Peter Popoff (two of the biggest creeps and frauds) to ever call themselves a Christian Preacher
