Hi :D
My aunt was recently in greece and turkey and she went and had an appointment with ecumenical patriarch bartholemew. They talked about stuff.
But when she got back she gave me a gold cross in a red box with the patriarchs seal on it. she told me he doesnt give it away often.
im just wondering but is this a common item that he gives to everyone he sees or is this a true rarity? Also, have you met any of the patriarchs?

My parents went to the Patriarchate 5 or so years ago. They brought me back a silver cross that came in a gray box with the seal on it. Pretty cool if you got a gold one. I keep it draped over one of my icons and I keep incense in the little box.

I can't answer any of your question, but that's really great! Congratulations to you and your aunt.

Hey Homme:
you can always do the Berlitz thing...I hear that it works real well.
I plan to learn Russian that way and probably also Greek sometime in the future. It is like a six week course. Check out their website.
