:)

I now have a prayer rope and a Patristics book :) Though I can only equip one or the other :(

I now have a copy of the Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom. Woot!

And it also looks like the special items area has something that we can have a Quest for, instead of the Holy Grail. It's got what they call the Heavenly Power, but what from the description is obviously the True Cross. What say ye that we start pooling the blessings?

(I'm only half kidding, btw)

Is is just me, or is the bar on the cross tilted the wrong way on the Liturgy book? The right side is supposed to be tilted up and the left down. (Christ's right.)

Look backwards to me.

It is a backwards cross, but it's a very pretty book. :)

Does anybody want icons of monastics' clothes? I might be able to make a cassock, too. :) I really wish we could equip more special items.

A cassock would be nice to have.

A cassock for us lowly readers would be very nice.

I put in a request (http://www.christianforums.com/showthread.php?p=9197492#post9197492) (post 503 in the thread) for this to go on sale. Based on my real life cassock that was made by St Elizabeth's Convent (http://www.sisqtel.net/~cse/index.html).

What are monastic robes called? Does this look enough like one?

An outer cassock and an inner cassock. (Sorry, stupid computer won't do the transparencies properly...)

The Ryassa is only worn by Deacons or higher, and Life professed monks. The cassocks you see the readers wear are the inner cassock, or Rasa. Most folks when they think of cassocks think of the Rasa.

I've seen a married reader wearing an outer cassock. I think I've seen a subdeacon wear one as well.

You won't see that in a Russian Church, or the OCA Diocese of the West. A person has to be blessed by a Bishop to wear a cassock.

I've seen those who can wear them switch back and forth between outer cassocks and inner cassocks, but I've never seen anyone wear a cassock who shouldn't have been.
