View Full Version : The Atrocities Of Sinners

 Wow! I'm gone for just a week, and when I come back, we're already being attacked again! Well, if the Protestants are going to accuse us of terrible things, then we must admit to them. The truth will be told.

I have no doubt that "Orthodox Christians" have beaten people, swindled bretheren, and abused political power(which I don't think churches should even have. Jesus isn't about earthly government). In Russia, some churches even helped organize the pogroms(attacks on Jews). We've done some pretty bad stuff.

Now for Roman Catholocism. Just one look at Dante's Inferno shall suffice. Inquisitions, threats, holy wars, massacars, and simony. Don't forget about the indulgences either.;)

Anglican time. It came into being by a corrupt king wanting nothing more than a male heir. He killed most of his wives. When the Anglicans didn't let him remarry, he cast them aside.

Anglican offshoot extravaganza! It split and split and split. The official Anglican church suppressed these new churches by force, that means murder, prison...etc

The brave new world...where's the Indians? Oh, that's right, the Puritans killed them all. In the name of God, they massacared perhaps over a million Indians, most of which were women and children. Guess what? They weren't alone. The "Catholic" conquistadors wiped out entire civilizations just to get gold.

But the Baptists are innocent, right? Well, if you consider raping a woman who asked you for spiritual help, beating a kid almost to death because he "misbehaved" in sunday school, or killing your three children because "God" told you to innocent, then yes. But Baptists have never done violence on a large scale, correct? Lets see...they killed Indians too and...hmmm...I know I'm forgetting something...oh yeah, the blacks. They burned crosses and hung African people, either that or shot them dead, both women and children. What was this "Protestant" organization called...the Ku Klux Klan.

I hope I've made my point here, which is that all churches have some sort of corruption since they're chocked full of sinners. So cease your attacks now. Everything that needs to be said was just said! Don't parade every single bit of your church as spottless, innocent, and faultless anymore (this includes Orthodox Christians).

Oh Lord Jesus Christ Son of God, have mercy upon us all, for we are sinners!!!
Amen.

Hmm... I didn't see any attacks. Are you posting here about something being said in another part of CF? (I never understand that. I think it is best to address problems directly with the person you are having problems with or as directly as possible.)

But I agree: "All have fallen short of the glory of God." All human's have sinned. All human organizations have been a part of some kind of sin.

I propose this thread be closed. Nothing personal, just doesn't seem productive.

Esran,

No one has said (or believes, or at least I hope not) that the members of the EOC are spotless or without sin. The Church that guides the faithful is Holy, the Body of Christ, the sheep do not always follow.

The thread you reference, on the blasphemy of Operation Gideon is not an attack on others but rather a defense. If you read the FAQs and beliefs and motives of the sponsors of the movement that will become clear.

I don't understand why there is a post here about an issue related to comments made in another thread. State your concerns directly to the person you have concerns with.

Now, if a question about Orthodoxy is prompted by a discussion in another thread, that is different. But generally, I see no benefit to threads about how other posters in other threads are inappropriate, etc.
