We have an icon in our chapel that is of Our Lord covered in jewels and radiating light holding a open bible. I wish I had a picture of it. A don't know the title of it but I sure it has to do with The Word of God

This is one of my favorite images. Notice the position of the Christ Child's hands and feet.

Hope you guys don't mind an Orthodox poking in your chapel ;) , but I couldn't help sharing. These are both icons of the Panagia and Child. The More Spacious one is behind the altar of St. John Maximovich Antiochian Orthodox Church in Charleston, South Carolina.

Here's a picture, not an Icon.

It is of Saint John Bosco's dream vision from 1862.
The Pope is on the ship, which is the Catholic Church" it is being attacked by other smaller ships.
And there are two pillars, which the CHurch moors against and is sustained.
The larger pillar has the Eucharist atop, and the smaller pillar has Blessed Mary.

We defend the pillars.

This is a picture from the Memling Museum in Bruges, to be found in the old chapel of St John's Hospital there. It's an altar piece, showing (from our perspective)

left: John the Baptist-
centre-Madonna and child with St Catharine with the wheel and Barbara with the tower
right- John the Apostle depicting revelations
I like it as it illustrates so well how pictures were used to tell the gospel stories, in a time when people couldn't read.

My daughter's baptismal name is Evangelia. She's named after the Annunciation, which is Evangelismos in Greek. :)

This is probably one of our favourite icons regarding the crucifixion. It's from the Holy Monastery of Iviron on Mount Athos and is called "The King of Glory"

I don't want to look morbid, but St. Therese looked beautiful in death, despite the fact that she was dead. Because when she was sick with tuberculosis, she was unrecognizable because of her sickness, but in death, she just looks beautiful. When, I get enough posts, i'll post pictures.

God Bless!

Here are some pictures of Saint Therese, I think that she looked beautiful in death (read my first post), and i'm not trying to morbid, it's just something about the way she looked, I guess maybe peaceful? And maybe also, cause she was surrounded by flowers and had a crown of roses, probably added to it. I am also attaching some other pictures of her.

Reposting two of the St. Therese pics, because they messed up in my post. Also, added a picture of Our Lady of Grace, and also a picture of the Blessed Mother with a rosary. (It's a pretty picture, both are pretty!), and a picture of Mother Teresa (Such a wonderful little nun!) God Bless her.

God Bless!

Renee
