Which ending to the Gospel of Mark does the Orthodox bible use? (ie the long ending or the short one which ends with them going to the tomb and not finding a body)?

Also, on a side note, what is the official bible of the Orthodox church. I'd like to get one.

The long ending.

Septuagint, and Received Text, (Byzantine text).

Look in my profile for what I am using. I guess it would vary according to language.

There isn't one. The Greek Church of course uses the Septuagint and Greek NT, but the English translation of it is archaic and full of errors. (Even obvious ones to your average non-Biblical scholar.)

KJV is used quite often in Orthodoxy, and I find the more priests you ask which Bible to read, the more you will hear KJV.

I personally use Brenton's 1851 English translation of the Septuagint for OT reading and an English translation of the original Greek NT. But you can use just about any Bible you like.

QDP, a couple options for now are the New Oxford Annotated Bible (RSV) (http://www.light-n-life.com/shopping/order_product.asp?ProductNum=NEWO100). It has the full deuterocanon. The annotations are good, but more from a scholarly perspective (i.e. not geared towards supporting the theology of any one church).

Another is the Orthodox Study Bible (http://www.light-n-life.com/shopping/order_product.asp?ProductNum=OZST140). Unfortunately right now it's only the NT and Psalms. The same people are working on a full Orthodox study Bible with an updated English translation of the Septuagint.

Of course an Orthodox Text par excellence is the Codex Sinaiticus which does not have the long ending of Mark. In the parishes I have been in the readings are from the RSV.

How can the Orthodox church use KJV - I thought they included the deurocanocial books. Is there an Orthdox version of KJ?

The KJV has errors, but less than other versions. So if you don't have an Orthodox Bible, priests suggest to use the KJV. There is an Orthodox Bible in English that is a modified KJV. Huge work! The publisher is Holy Apostles Convent, website BuenaVistaCO.com.
