its a translation of the bible directed for youth and new christians - in the more easily understandable language.

It sounds a bit risky to me, yes I believe the Bibel can be translated to those people and that culture. But it seems if you focus on putting in metaphors and such, as it has discribed, the rest walks a fine line of falling; Since it's all on a man to get forth the right picture and such... it's very dangerous!!

i kinda know what you mean - but also disagree - The street bible is great when you use it with you own normal bible

I think it looks like a great idea for new Christians. But by no means should someone study this Bible by itself.

Maybe read this one once through, then graduate to the NIV, then to the KJV.

The NAS would almost be easier to unserstand, and probally more correct.

im not saying dont use the NIV or KJV im saying use it WITH them - it can clarify the language of some passages that are hard to read or understand!

Well, I think these bibles are good for those of us who had previously never read a bible before. I just got one for Christmas, New Living Translation, and it's quite different from the KJV, but so much easier for me to understand for now. Thumbs up to people translating the bible for those of us who can't understand olde english :)
