Are you a Christian music junkie? Is the only time you hear Christian music at church?

Since no one else has comments I'll post. There is a ton of good, talented Christian music out there. Check out a Family Christian store. Some people have this false idea that it's "borning". Even though I don't think worship music is boring I like heavier faster paced things that really get my fired up for God. Give me a little E.SO, Project 86 or something like that. :)

I said most of the time, cause it's not all I listen to, but I don't hear it only at church either...I'd say it's probably more 50/50, but also depends on my mood. There's just times all I want to do is listen to praise music and sing along :)

It depends on my mood. Some weeks i listen to only christian music other times i listen to christian music a little bit and more country that week. Like right now i been switching between christian and country music.

I listen 2 christian music most of the time. I love it. Music comes with 2 presence either GOD'S presence or the devil's presence whether u agree with me or not. Either Christ or the defeated devil. I love the different styles of christian music rap hiphop reggae .

i listen to christian most of the time. it is what i listen to when i am home & in my room. about 60% of the time i listen to it in the car, but we do not have a good christian music station in my town, so i cant listen to it that often in the car. :(

I had made a concious choice about two years ago to listen only to Christian music.As I grow in the Lord,I want to be more pleasing to Him and so I feel I should listen to music that only glorifies Jesus and not man.My favorite(glad you asked!);) is 4HIM. I also love praise and worship music.

How do I decide whether a given piece of music is "Christian" or not? Is Bach organ music Christian? How about Metallica's _Creeping Death_, a song about the angel of death part of Exodus?

This is too hard to answer.

I do not listen to any music simply because it's got a label on it saying "We Like God". I think that all good music is part of God's glory.

99.998% of the time I'm listening to Christian Music. I love Contemporary Worship Music, like Music from the Vineyard. I also can't get enough of P.O.D., and Pillar.

Secular music is dead for me since my high school year.

I love Christian Music and for the most part it is all I listen to. The only time I listen to secular music is when my husband is in the car. But I try to get it past him when I can. I love Third Day. They are the best.

I listen to Christian Music but no more than any other type of music... or no less for that matter. Each type of music has it's place and purpose. Though I admit I enjoy worshipping God and you can't do that with any other type of music

I used to listen to mainly Christian music, as my parents were really strict about it. but now, I listen to mainly secular, and I enjoy it. I think that there's a lot of good stuff out there, you just have to watch lyrics and content. I know I should get back into listening to more Christian stuff though. It's true that what you listen (lots of exposure) to affects how you think in the long run.

For the longest time I listened to only Christian music. However, as I grew more honest with myself, I realized that a lot of Christian music is NOT honest. Bands put out p&w cds because they can make more money that way. Bands utter the name "Jesus" in their songs because the record label won't release the cd otherwise. It's all about the money. fame and money come cheap in the christian music industry.

So I started listening to secular stuff to. At least it is honest and talking about everyday struggle and doubts. Sure there are some songs to skip, but what's new?

Define Christian music. I listen to composers like Bach all the time, and they made music by God and for God. It's definately christian music. But I don't just listen to classical though :cool:

ok... I was refering more to the contemporary... i.e. not classical... stuff... The christian music industry and labels... such as Word and Forefront and all that jazz...

I listen to Christian music. I used to only listen to secular, but then I realized that it only brought me down and provoked feelings that didn't glorify God. In all I do I want to do the will of my Father. Listening to secular music really brings me down. I don't like listening to Christian bands that mimic secular styles either. I think their entire motivation should be on God, not making music that sounds identical to secular just with different lyrics. It isn't just the lyrics that are bad, but the mood they pull out of me. I love worship music!!

I'm just starting to get into the whole christian music thing. I have 4 or 5 cd's, but there's no good radio station around me so I pretty much have to trust my friends when they tell me a cd is good because I usually don't hear any of the songs until I buy it. :)

I listen to Christian music pretty much exclusively. As for those who don't have a good Christian station near them (I don't; Chicago's 106.7 plays all pop; except for the occasional "Breathe"), Spinner.com has an excellent Modern Christian internet radio "channel." I have cable modem, so I don't have any problems with it cutting out and such. Anyway, here's a link to that :)

I absolutley love Christian music!!
I'm in a small band in our church (i play the piano) which is good coz i'm doing what i love.

I really like the nice 'chillout' relaxed music especially, not so much bands like Delirious. I have a set of Cd's called "Songs4Worship" and they are filled with some gr8 songs.

Actually i've lent them to someone and i am starting to feel it. I think the best thing in the world is to relax in bed (maybe before you go to bed) listening to Music that really praises God.

I think its great that they have Christian music in almost every style. Most male non-Christian teens for example would not want to listen to praise music, but they will listen to P.O.D. or Pillar. Christian music is great. I listen to everything from Jaci Velasquez, to Newsboys, to Pillar.

I try to only listen to Christian music and teaching tapes. The only time I'm exposed to secular music is at work. Unfortunately that's the majority of the time. I pray for the Godless Heathens that I work with....

I have the POD CD, and I was listening to it. I just think that they blend in too much with normal secular music. Even their music videos are like that.

If you like P.O.D. you really should check out Pillar's new CD Fireproof. It's great musically and sends a very good message in every song. I think Pillar is showing that pure Christian music can outdo what's out there in the secular world.

Hip Hop:
Cross Movement, Grits, T-Bone (newest CD is great), Pettidee, Ill Harmonics, John Reuben

Dogwood, Reliant K (more of a Blink 182 style punk), Hangnail

I could list plenty more bands I enjoy but I have to eat lunch!

Personally, the only time I want someone playing Christian music for me is at my funeral, since im dead and won't care that is so slow and boring. My favorite bands include EyeHateGod, Godsmack, Slayer, Slipknot, Cannibal Corpse, Megadeth, Mushroomhead, and especially ABBA. I'm sorry if this offends anyone, but Christian music offends my ears.

I listen to gospel music most of the time. My husband is a musician and listens to all types of music. When we are together, it is sometimes hard to avoid listening to secular music. I try to listen to positive, encouraging music and sermons whenever possible.  :)

almost all the time, when im in the car, i have it on the christian contemporary station, and if a song is on that i dont like, i flip thorugh the secular stations-usually nothing good on those stations, so I put in my misc christian song cds...

I always listen to either a christian artist on cd in my car or the local christian radio station.
i can't stand most of the secular stuff. Its depressing or degrading.
I don't have time for that... and most of all I don't want my kids to hear that junk!

I listen to Christian music quite often. One of my all time fav is "Awesome God." However, I prefer singing Christian songs over listening to it. After all, many songs are meant to be praising the Lord. :clap:

It's the only thing besides God himself that keeps me sane while at work. I'm a smoker and that part of the break room is known for the bad language and crude jokes so to block all that out I bring along my portable CD player and listen to my music. My favorite is Jaci Velasquez, Crystal Clear. I looooove it :clap:

I use to listen to bands like Suicidal Tendencies and Decendants when I was a wee pup but it only brought me down. I got so into that stuff and it was just a trap I know now. Since I was 20 I've only listened to Christian oriented music and have been involved in the music ministry and I've never missed that old stuff once I got the lyrics out of me skull.

I only listen to worship music - i dont need anything else. I find other music empty and just want something that will bring me closer to God. I just dont like anything secular in terms of entertainment at the minute.

Oh yea!!! There are some jamin christian bands out there from country to worship to heavy metal!
Some examples: MercyMe,Rebecca Stjames,POD,Pillar,Michael W. Smith.
Just to name a few, if you havent heard any of these groups give em a try you never know they might catch your heart, they did mine!

Christian music would have to be the only music i listen to, well if not the only at least 99.9% of the music i listen to. There is such i wide range of christian music out there that everybody's taste in music should be satisfied, i mean you've got rap, rock, worship, heavy metal, reggae, the list goes on. 'Big ups' for Christian music, keep up the good work dudes!!

I love all music, but me into HipHop, breaks, beats, even some rock and I loooovvvveeeee Worship (even though all Christian music is worship - but y'all know what I mean???)

I like secular stuff aswell - but depends - ya see that God created music - was like his idea - but some secular content is whack - be careful!!!

I occasionally dip into my secular selection - but I have so much good christian stuff (over a few thousand albums - about 4000 actually!!!) that it ain't a prob finding christian stuff to listen too... I got too much time on my hands!!! Well I do drive a lot!!!

I went with most of the time, becuase it was the closest to what I acutally do. If you mean christian music like heavy metal then yeah. But I also play guitar for a worship service at my church. It's all contemporary!

Third Day is just about the best band out there right now. (IMO)

Their music is all about Him. They don't hide anything. I like that. :clap:

It has changed my life and communion with God so much to only be edified by music produced by believers. God has blessed so many people with such talent musically, and I am extremely glad that Christians have been using those talents for glorifying God and uplifting their brothers and sisters in Christ! Praise God for Christian music!

I listen to a lot of music.
But very little of it is christian music.
I have a fairly wide range of taste in music, but then again it's also narrow in what I like.
I think there is only one christian band that I actually like the music of, that band is Skillet.
Some of the guys at our church have started their own band, and I like their stuff, but they have a fair way to go yet :)

I very rarely listen to Christain music, usually only at church/bibal study or when my Mom has it on. It's not that I don't like it, it's just not my personal preference. Most of the time I am either listening to Classical or Eminem, weird combination, I know, but well :P

I'm 50/50; but it kind of depends on my mood. I get something different from Christian music than I do from secular music. It's a kind of worship for me. But I still like good secular music too (especially indie, alt-country and bluegrass)

WOW this used to be one of those things I had to change. When I became saved I changed in every aspect(eventually, simply because I did not want to give up everything). Now it is one of the factors that feeds my soul as well as the bible and fellowship!

Well i said i only listin to Christian music, but there is one band i litsin too and im not sure. They are a group called 12 stones. Besides that i only listin to Christian music. Its not because i feel obligated or whatever but becuase i just dont get anything out of secualr music. i know it isnt all bad, that it isnt all telling people to go and sin sin sin..lol...but i gtet a filling from Chrisitan music. Whether it is bringing me before the throne of God or someone who understands the Christian struggle like i do. God is Lord and listing to music that praises Him helps me keep that on my mind.

I used to only listen to Christian music -
but then I went to college and now only listen to secular music....amazingly, I didn't start killing people, etc.! And this stuff is really good! Some Christian bands are good, but none are great. No Christian band can bring me as close to God as Creed's Higher can! :)

I enjoy good christian music. But being a product of the 80's I still like to listen to some of the "Classic Stadium Rock". You know, Journey, Boston, Bon Jovi, Stix. Nothing real heavy or pounding. I wish there was more of that sound is christian music.

Actually my radio listening is pretty evenly divided between our Christian station (which itself is divided between music, news, sermons & other related discussions), a jazz station & our local NPR network. I do have a few Gospel CDs and some Christian music on my PC.

I listen to Christian Music only - too many favorites to mention. Before I was saved a Christian station was next to my favorite light rock and sometimes I listened to the Christian station without realizing it. The message must have sunk in!!! The Holy Spirit will no longer allow me comfort listening to Rock, PBS, and lots of other not so good things. Even most classical music unless written for the church! What a life - I love it!

I agree. Every style that secular music has there's always, well most times, a christian counterpart. I'm a christian music freak, no doubt about it. There's so much good stuff out there that it seems pointless to listen to anything else. The music you feed yourself with can either nourish or poison i believe.

I agree. Every style that secular music has there's always, well most times, a christian counterpart. I'm a christian music freak, no doubt about it. There's so much good stuff out there that it seems pointless to listen to anything else. The music you feed yourself with can either nourish or poison i believe.
I think the reason people think we're wierd is those people at cincerts that wave their hands in the air, or jump up and down real fast.
Just saw Michael Jackson on the telly :eek: . Changed my mind.

Christian music is the only music that is allowed in my household, car, etc. We only allow this music because it glorifies GOD and not some womans body, looks, or any other worldly thing out here. Our children love it and we love it as well.

Hi all! I am a huge music lover..... been listening to smooth jazz and fusion lately, but I'd like to add some Christian artists that I like, who are in my own collection, and who I do not think have been mentioned yet, and to those who are looking for certain styles of Christian music etc, the list may be helpful, I tried in some places to compare some artists with secular bands, it doesn't mean that the band was necessarily copying the secular band, though in some cases this is probably true... its just who they personally remind of....

some are older bands/artists:
Larry Norman-- who really helped to get Christian Rock going, at one time Time magazine called him the most important song writer since Paul Simon, another early rocker was Randy Stonehill, Mark Heard who is kinda folkish in style, I absolutely love Phil Keaggy, one the world's greatest guitar players(!!), he has cd's that sound very much like the Beatles, who he was admittedly very influenced by, ie "Beatleish" sounding cd's Crimson and Blue and Sunday's Child-- , and Keaggy has numerous other styles of music, ie all instrumental stuff that would be categorized as "New Age", like his The Wind and the Wheat, as well as other brilliant mostly acoustic guitar instrumental albums like Beyond Nature, to mostly electric rock instrumental albums like 220 and On the Fly, he is truly a gifted musician, truly a genius, he must have at least 20 albums, starting out with his earliest stuff when he was with the band called Glass Harp, who opened up for bands like Ted Nugent and the Amboy Dukes! hos that for being dated! LOL!!..... I like Caedmon's Call (their lyrics are simply, IMHO, theologicaly the most profound!), Susan Ashton, Sixpence None the Richer, Out of the Grey, Margaret Becker, Charlie Peacock, Rich Mullins, Matthew Ward (and to a lesser extent the band The 2nd Chapter of Acts which is Matthew Ward and 2 of his sisters, they were also an early influential Christian "rock band", though we would hardly classify them as rock today), The Choir, The Lost Dogs, Bebo Norman, Wes King, Adam Again, Daniel Amos, Allies-- whose lead singer at times sounds like Sammy Hagar though musically they were not as rock- ie more popish, he eventually went solo and much mellower, his name is Bob Carlise-- whose best known song is Butterfly Kisses, Chris Rice (kinda like James Taylor), FFH, Bryan Duncan, Sweet Comfort Band (very early Christian rock/pop), The Walter Eugenes, Russ Taff, The Violet Burning, PFR (formerly Pray for Rain... turns out the name "Pray for Rain" was already copywrited so they went to simply "PFR", great stuff, sort of like The Beatles I guess, rich vocal harmonies with pop-rock music), LSU, The Waiting, Smalltown Poets, Christian reggae band Christifari, harder Christian alternative/rockers/metal bands I like are bands Guardian, Lovewar (kinda like Kings X), WhiteHeart, Believer, Delieverance, Sacred Warrior (old Ozzy-Randy Rhodes meets Ronnie James Dio), Saint (very much like Judas Priest), X-Sinner (very much like ACDC), Tourniquet, Bloodgood, Bleach, Ken Tamplin/Shout, Barren Cross, Bride, The Daniel Band, The Crucified, Siloam, Holy Soldier (kinda like Def Lepperd), Whitecross (like the 80's metal band Ratt), Hocus Pick, One Bad Pig, Rage of Angels (kinda like Motley Crue), The Ressurection Band (or sometimes called "Rez Band", who is another pioneering Christian rock band of the 70's), Mad At The World, Seventy-Sevens, Big Tent Revival (kinda like Tom Petty), ska band The Channelsurfers; Christian jazz/instrumentalists Abraham Laboriel and Justo Almario, jazz fusion band Koionia, smooth jazz guitarist Jack Jezzro, there is a number of instrumental jazz albums out under the "Brentwood" label, the Larry Ariota Trio, another band is called simply The Jazz Trio, there is Christian Big Band artist Denver and the Mile High Orchestra, Sinatra style Christian jazz artist Jason and the G-Men, blues players Darrell Mansfield, Larry Howard, Glen Kaiser, Chris Lizotte and Soul Motion (somewhat Texas Blues a la Stevie Ray Vaughn), really ethereal celtic worship from Clannad member/lead singer Marie Brennan, some great R&B is early Bebe and Cece Winans, Billy and Sarah Gaines, more recent R&B/Pop is amazing vocalist Crystal Lewis, and also the band Out of Eden....

well this is I think most of what I have in my collection.... mostly off the top of my head though, and this is not counting the stuff that I have on vinyl, can't recall all of that stuff since I haven't gotten any of it out for some time now... though I should, come to think of it!! LOL!

BTW, fyi, Philips, Craig and Dean are, I believe, members of the United Pentecostal Denomination, which means they deny the Trinity, so I boycott/do not support their music for that reason.....

i like lotsa music i listen to many bands... mostly harder stuff like rock/alternative/metal/industrial and some hard techno... btw most people criticize POD and say that they are secular and non christianly but a lil' while ago my dad saw them on a late night show and they gave their testimony, they tour with secular bands yes but they do have some lyrics that point fans of these bands to God and last they just recently "departed" their guitarist due to the fact he was not christian and also that he was working with some side projects without the consent of the rest of the band or record company or label or something... haha sorry i dont have it totally 100% straight... plus for those people who are anti-hard-christian music you can believe what you want but i firmly believe that when i go to heaven God will not say "I am dissapointed in you for listening to music that worships and loves me because it is harder then what your parents generation is use to" because trully i believe that if it is beautiful and does not say things that are against what He wills or He Himself then it honours Him... so i say phh i wont ever probably be on this site ever again because im too busy with my studies so if u try to respond to it dont direct it to me cos u wont get a response... may God always bless you and keep you

oh and the last thing there are many references to music in the bible yes i've heard people on this site say that since there is no reference in the New Testement of instruments but goodness so does that means that everything in the OT is trash NO WAY it is STILL GOD'S WORD and GOD'S word will always be true. He did change SOME laws when He sent Himself down to earth as a human but thats because the situation changed slightly... i guess i might as well be quit it and leave it for the theoligians to debate it... who am i just some 17 male looking for a beautiful God loving female ;) haha.... lataz... oh and ps the acustic guitar and the classical piano were both forbiden from the church at one time

I only listen to Christian music, and my car's tuner is always on a Christian station. As mentioned countless times before, there's a lot of great stuff at the local Christian store :)

I like praise and worship CDs like the different WOW collections and Michael W. Smith, but also other bands, depending on the mood. Nothing like some good christian music to start a day (on top of prayer and daily reading of the Bible, of course!) :)

I listen to rap/rock that isn't christian too though, but it's got to have a message I'm OK with. nothing thats hateful towards any other group.

This hits home pretty closely. See, when I was stationed in Germany, I was assigned to live with a roomate that was very very much the opposite of myself. He drank (did drugs) listen to the heaviest of metal music(his choice of clothes showed it and often said it.) and hated R&B/hip hop. I of course was his opposite. To make a long story short after 2 years of living togther...we became the best of friends. Worked togther, hung out ALL the time and even worked everyday together. He even started dressing more casual and clean cut. He started listening and enjoying RB and hiphop and (this is where the relivance to this reply answers the orginal question of the thread) even started to listen to Michael W. Smith. My absolute favorite artist. Therefore I can't listen to him as much as I would like to cause it makes me remember those good times I use to have and now those times are a part of my past and it saddens me.

I cant say its the only music I listen to or that I only hear it in church cuz Im a DJ aat a local Christian Radio Station and I also love to listen to an online station called Shoutlast.com. I enjoy country and jazz here and there and (ill admit it) I even listen to some Metal too. I focus on the message and so I dont stick with one artist all the time cuz not all the secular lyrics out there are good. There are a ton of talented Christian ones out there though like Skillet, Switchfoot, Stacie Orrico, POD and Thirdday to name only a few. :)

I have more Christian music and Christian sermon cd's than any other type of cd. I think I would go nuts without my Christian music. When I am not listening to it, I am singing it....I am a christian music junkie.

What I think is totally great is that my children would rather listen to Christian music than other kinds of music also. They also like musicals....our favorite is Joseph and Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, I suppose that is our favorite because it comes from a Bible story.

I personally think the best Christian music songs are the ones that come from the Pslams. There are so many good ones of those.

I love Christian music, it really gets me in the mood to praise God. My favorite christian band would most likely be Five Iron Frenzy. I also like Third Day, Greed, Newsboys and thats the only off the top of my head.
I really encouage people to listin to Christian music because I even know some people that God speaks to them through music.

I'm trying to be as subjective as possible here but Christian music can be dreadful. Unfortunately the old adage 'The Devil has all the best tunes' is correct eg. The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Wagner, Berlioz, Mozart, Marilyn Manson, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Black Sabbath (the list goes on and on) have all been linked, however tenuously, with Satan. Literature is the same too - The Brontes, Oscar Wilde, Baudelaire, Byron, Mary Shelley, and if some are to be believed J K Rowling, Phillip Pullman, and J R R Tolkien have all had accusations of satanism made. All this makes me wonder - do we tolerate those who are inspired by the devil, or do we shut these things out of our lives altogether.

I think that feeling Him and hearing his voice makes Me thirst for more of Him, making me seek Him in constant Fast and Prayer..

For the longest time I was straddling the line between worlds, so I listened to some really bad music :sigh: .
Since I rededicated my life completely a few months ago, I've been listening about 90% Christian music.... that specifically is about the Lord. The other 10% I still listen to 'worldly' music, but only that that has a positive message or that I can apply to my feelings about Him.
Many songs written to be about a love affair with a man can be translated to your love affair with God! Christina Aguellara( sp?) has a song, "I'm Everything I am Because You Loved Me" and I sing it to my Lord all the time!:clap:

Are you a Christian music junkie? Is the only time you hear Christian music at church?
I didn't vote simply because it's not the only music i listen to nor do i listen to it most of the time.

I generally listen to both secular/Christian music about equally. Some days i'll listen only to Christian music other days only secular, especially so if i'm surfin' the 'net. ;)

As mom, it is the only music we listen to. I also keep all the newest CDs through the music club as I am set up only to receive Christian music. I TOTALLY believe music has a powerful influence on a person, even subconsciously. I enjoy hearing my kids sing a song that is in their spirit, just naturally coming out of their mouths. Sometimes they don't even know they are singing it until I sing along. This is why I feel it is also VERY IMPORTANT to choose your music carefully, because it goes deep. WHAT YOU PUT IN IS WHAT COMES OUT. I understand satan lead worship in heaven. I also understand it is a vehicle he uses today to corrupt society. My kids know most of the songs since we ALWAYS, I mean ALWAYS have a Christian CD playing, or AIR1 preset in our cars. We love Third Day, Jeremy Camp, Crystal Lewis, Rebecca St James...I feel we have an awesome selection, and a great variety! I take them to Christian concerts so they can see the magnitude of the popularity of their favorite artists! I have never had to fight my kids in this! They actually have their own preference of what Christian bands they prefer! Thank GOD!

In our household, we listen to Christian music exclusively. The most of what I buy is Alternative, although I have an extensive collection that includes the NonPunk, Hard (on the) Rock, HipHop, and about anything serious that has hit the pike.

BTW, I am a mom and grandma, and would still rather listen to Planet Light Force and the Teen Mania praise & worship music, than to fixate into some rigid musical rut that attempts to be nonflexible in its (lack of) ability to communicate with the masses of the "World".

We do KSBJ (the online version has 3 types of music you can listen to, and I can minimize the screen and listen while I work). The kids have autographed posters and other items, and we do at least one big concert per year, such as Festival con Dios, or DC Talk.:cool: :cool: :cool:

PS: KSBJ made the #1 CCM station in the US for three years in a row, now, and they have contests which include entries for their online listeners, as well.

I really feel for all of you who don't nave a good station around you. Some stores allow you to test drive a CD or have demo trax to hear (WalMart)with their CCM CD's. God Bless all of you!

I have found that Christian music keeps my attitude positive. I am more at peace and grateful. If I listen to the wrong kind of secular music, sometimes it brings me down. I happen to loooove rock music, but if I listen to someone like Stained, I find I feel really low. My mood will often reflect the tone of the music. Just because we like something doesn't mean it is good for us. I learned that the hard way.:)

Unfortunately I could not vote on this poll, because my answer is neither options 1 or 2, nor options 3 or 4. I listen to Christian music as often as I listen to Kutless, Audio Adrenaline, dc Talk, Paul Colman Trio, Earthsuit, or Delirious. Among modern (rock, rock/pop, alternative) music, this would be about 1 per cent of the time (1 song per 100 songs I listen to). Considering I listen to classical music at least 50 per cent of the time I spent listening to music, it would be even less.

I do like some, but I just don't think there is enough high quality Christian music out there.

Church music is wonderful, and I enjoy performing it and singing it at church, but it is not my style to choose to listen to.:)

good stuffm great oldies of our own, but what about the rest of the world? why is this such a huge controversey if this music is sooo good for us? maybe if it was just put into a different box? it is good for you, but our music should be reflected in our life. the words we sing should also be the words we live, cause life needs us to be loud, the world needs us to be loud, for Christ. I listen to Christian music every day at work. It really seems to help me stay focused on Christ, and avoid temptation to "go with the flow" as far as attitudes with fellow workers go. When certain songs come on, and God touches my heart with them, it's like I can stop and worship right then and there.

Unfortunately, I only have 2 choices in Christian radio in my area. I can either listen to Christian death metal, screaming, feedback "music" on 88.7 RadioU. Oh, they also play (C)rap, which I can't stand. OR I can listen to "The River" which is all cheesy, pop, pretty, happy music- which I can only stand for about 10 minutes. Sorry, I'll stick with CD101, the alternative station and listen to music I actually like!

I listen to it all the time! I love just about every single type of music too. One thing I like is that any type of music I want to listen to there is a Christian band/group/singer for the style. I also have 2 great christian radio stations in my city, it's great!

I used to only listen to Christian music while at church but anymore, I listen to it approximately once every week or two. Really, I just listen to it whenever I feel like it which really isn't that often. I'm usually too busy doing other things. I prefer Gospel, Southern Gospel, and Praise and Worship music but some Contemporary Christian is nice too.

I listen to christian music most of the time. When I listen to it, I let the words enter my heart, I cry and talk to God. :thumbsup: There are days when I feel alone or upset and I just go in my room and listen to worship music and pray to God :crosself: I also listen to worship music on days when I feel happy or excited because the lord is working great things in my life, but all things should be done as if we were doing it for God. Worship music is one of my favorite ways to worship God :bow:

Give me some Bach anytime, but if you're talking about the modern pop music...I rarely listen if I have a choice. With the modern "Christian" rock, I don't think you can lump all Christian music into one genre. They have to be judged independantly.
