I was reading something online about televangelists being "fake". It kind of confused me about whom I watch on television:scratch: . I watch some of these televangelists on t.v. but now that I have found this information that is calling them liars makes me wonder whether or not I should watch them. Feed back would be greatly appreciated.

The 700 Club?
I don't know. I'm not so fond of what I see on TV, but I can be a little biased due to past troubles that have happened.
Personally, I dont send off money to any religious organizations. Too much of the money I send for people in need goes to other funding needs.
I'm more of a "hands on" helper.

There is an easy way to determine if they're worth your time. Test whatever they say with the Bible.
I would also agree that you should not send money to them.
For fellowship and teaching there really is no substitute for the local church.

we should test everything by scripture but it's sometimes difficult to do that since we are lazy beings by nature..lol...so if i were you, i'll still listen to those evangelists but i'll pick up what's good for me and pray that i'll have the diligency to study what they say from the Bible.
Speaking about them, here are some on the internet for download or viewing.

Leiko,
You can't always believe everything that you read. I don't watch a lot of Christian TV but there are a few that I really do enjoy. If I were to list just one or two of them that I enjoy it would probably start a riot of all kinds of things that people have read from others but never taken the time to find out the truth for themselves.
If you are ministered to by someone that is great. Continue to be ministered to. But, as one poster said above it is extremely important that you know the Word for yourself. We are not to just believe what we are told because we trust that person.
Also, whenever you do hear something that you don't agree with from someone, don't just automatically throw it out the door. Just because you don't understand something does not mean it may not be true. It's up to you to chek it out.
I encourage you to stop listening to anyone who puts fellow brothers and sisters in the Lord down. Gossip and slander is one of the biggest problems amongst Christians.

That's what I would say also.

There are allot (if not most all0 of them that are not teaching the word of God, or the truth... But the best way to find out is to look up what they teach and see if it's in the Bible.. In fact, it's the only way... But personally, I wouldn't even waste my time watching them... As others have said

You can get some good teaching on the GodTV network, however some of them DO look like used car salesmen. I'm seeing my local church minister for bible reading/study which as a new christian i think is essential.
