I was having fun in the box before it (rightly) got deleted.
So can we put ourliberalselves in a box here?

*puts self in box*

But if you're putting yourself in the box you have so say who put you there and why you're content to be in the box (ie. why you like being a "liberal" Christian) and what food you're bringing to the party.

I was put in the box by my Christian friends who criticize me for being like all the other Liberals who don't stand for their faith because I have friends who are Gay, Hindu, Muslim, Democratic, etc.

Why I'm okay with that: Because our Founder did that too, and He was not well liked because it either.

and I'm bringing cookie dough - maybe we can mix it with CaDan's ice cream.

/me politely refuses to get in the box.

I am conflicted by "box" analogies. I am a liberal Christian because I think outside the box and will not allow anyone to squeeze me into one.

I don't really know this Jesus who self-righteous Christians put in a neat box; this four-cornered little Jesus-idol who seems to have changed his mind about love, trust, forgiveness and number of other matters.

My Jesus would give communion first to the divorced and remarried couple sitting in the front pew with tears in their eyes whilst others joyfully approached God's altar.

My Jesus would never say, "they are not of our group," and call down lightning upon them.

My Jesus would never turn his back on God's chosen people, His people, nor nullify a covenant.

My Jesus is not a celestial superego.

Don't let these friends of yours put you in a box. You're too big and love too much to fit neatly into one.

I'll bring a six-pack.

i don't mind the boxes that i may put myself in, i just don't force other people to come in. they come in if they want to, and if they don't, that's ok too but there is no wall around me, so anyone can talk into my box with an discourse with me...doesn't mean i leave my box, just means at times, my box expands from time to time.

i'm a liberal Christian because that's where my path has lead me, and i'm just being honest about my faith. it's my way of saying, i'm at peace in my faith today, no matter where i'm at, no matter what controversial view i hold, no matter what i believe.

my experiences in life have led me this way as well. life is life, and life has lead me to be a liberal to some sort of degree.

i'll add another 6-pack to Toney's list.

Like tatted said, I am what I am because that's where my path led me. I wonder though at what point I made the decision. I was thinking to day that is some ways, I chose the best path of those that seemed available to me back when I was aware I had a choice. Or maybe by then it was too late. Box? I constatnly put myself in a box, which is always changing.

I bring: cream puffs with boursin cheese inside and a bottle of 2 year old french wine, for a thread that is two years old.
