What makes you go? What keeps you going? How do I know which church is the right one?

To worship God, to fellowship with brethren, Biblical teaching

The church goes to church because they are "called" by God.

They stay because God has given them "desire" to learn truth.

They are where they are because that's where they should be at that time.

Not all that attend church are "called" to the kingdom of God, especially if the churches are "inviting" people to church with the words like "come if you want comfort, socializing, good music etc...

Those that seek a church because God has called them and gives them a conscience to seek God and know that they must seek how to please God are the "called" of God.

Those that continue to seek truth, stay and where they are depends on God, All the churches hold the truth, and they also hold falsness.. i pray that you continue to seek the truth and find out what this means.

What makes you go?
Because my personal convictions tell me I need to be involved with other believers. Where I live church is the about the only way to do so.

What keeps you going?
Not really any other options at this point.

How do I know which church is the right one?
There probably isn't a 'right church' IMO. You just have to find one you are most comfortable in.

I go because I want to go! For worship, for fellowship.

Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Being around other believers, helps to encourage me to stand strong in my faith. When I'm broken, they help build me up. When I'm sad, they help me cheer up. And most of all, when my walk suffers or hits a low point, they help guide me back on the right path.

You want a church that's going to encourage you, and who will help you with your relationship with Christ. Other than that, it's up to what you're most comfortable with because there's so many different styles of worship and praise, different preaching styles, etc.

People are the Church . Wherever you are , the Church is there . I can't go there if I am always there and never leave . Discuss it with the Lord , He will help you find out what you need to know .

I go because I truly enjoy being at church. I enjoy the worship time, the fellowship and (usually) the message.

Just pray about your choice in churches. The Lord will lead you to the right one.

One of the best reasons to attend church is that being around other believers is a real strength and faith builder.

Thanks :)

I've attended church my entire life -- on and off. My mother and father and brother did not chose to go but they left it to me as my choice. I've spend my young and adult life attending either alone :( or with friends. I continue to pray for them and invite them.

Worship seems so strange almost... singing, the ceremony... how do you become more comfortable with it? It feels so weird.

Would you like to know why I don't go to church?

I go because I feel called to go to praise and to pray with others.
I keep going because I need to be taught, nurtured, uplifted and supported by other believers.

The "right" church will be different for different people. You need to find a church body where you feel you are being spiritually fed and nurtured so your faith and understanding can grow.

Worship has only felt strange to me when I was with people who only "worshipped" with their mouths and not their hearts. Worship actually has to begin within yourself, in your own heart. If you truly feel uncomfortable in the worship service, maybe you need to find another place to worship. BUT first, try praying before the service begins-ask God to open your heart and mind to His presence. Remember that Worship is for God, not for you, and let the service lead you to Him with praise.

Point being? I fellowship with Christians, I just don't go to church right now for a variety of reasons.

Would you like to know why I don't go to church? I would like to know . :)

I don't either but I already stated that it is impossible for me to go to a place that I am always at .

Some weeks are challenging especially when you feel so unworthy but I know now that this is not true... I sincerely hope that I do never allow my convictions to keep me from attending church again. It is a hospital for sinners like me.

Thanks for the joke Father Rick
