Let me pause to clarify
('cause I'm sure you're asking, "Why?").
I stand before you and proudly claim
to belong to what this song complains.

I'm part of the problem,
I confess,
But I gotta get this off my chest.

Let's extinguish the anguish
for which we're to blame,
and save the world
from going down in flames. This is from the end of Relient K's song "Down in Flames." As I listened to it, I felt moved to share it.

I like it because it is about holding Christians to a higher ideal. They aren't perfect. We aren't perfect. All we can do is reconcile our differences and work to minister to the world through the grace of God.

I agree with you, fragments of dreams - but I have to say I read your post incorrectly at first, and thought you said we had to "recycle our differences"!! Think perhaps some people on other threads are doing that!!

Good point, Fragments -- and a rueful ROFL to Maccie!!

We should recycle our differences. If we can make an aircraft carrier into shaving blades, just think what we could turn our differences into.

I was just thinking of this song recently.

Recycling is good too. Except here its called proof-texting. ;)

I like the song though fragments and bringing Christians together to do good is always more productive than pointing out the differences of their theology.

I really like Relient K. There is a very tongue in cheek truth to their songs.
It's about time we stop pointing out all the little differences and just do God's work!

"Recycling our differences" is a great idea!
