How often, How much, and How do you approach reading the Bible?
I started a track a few years ago of reading the Bible through four times in a year. Then I had a baby...
...but both my wife and I agree we need more faithful family devotions, especially now with a child. I would like for us to spend a good half an hour at least as a family studying the Bible, and then individually I'd like to get back to studying about an hour a day.

I'm reading the Bible through for the first time this year. I'm using an NIV in a daily format - OT, NT, Psalm and Proverb. I had read chunks before but got mired in Chronicles.
Next year I want to use Oswald Chambers as a devotional, plus reading it through several times.

I read tons everyday for helping people here on CF. Other than that, I usually study out topics or read past where my bookmark is before going to bed

Every night. Sometimes in the morning when I know I can't that night.
I'll pray then I'll read the Bible, God ussally answers with the Bible. I don't read chapter to chapter.

I try to read something every day or study something on the internet every day. A lot of the things I do online lead me to reading the bible. I need to read the OT. I have only read 3 or 4 books in it vs. reading the NT numerous times.

How important is reading the Bible? It's very important. It's one of the "weapons" of Christians. ^_^
God bless!

I generally read about a chapter a night, after tea... sometimes I read more...
I went through a long period where I didn't read my bible, which is kind of sad, but I was disillusioned into thinking that I knew everything there was to know about the bible, and I didn't need to read it.
It wasn't until I ran into people who knew more than me (admittedly, I did know a lot of the bible) that I started to realise how ridiculous my attitude was.

I believe that it’s vital for our walk with God to read and meditate on the scriptures at least once a day. I heard an interesting sermon a while back that’s main point was: As Christians we get so busy doing things FOR God, that we neglect to set aside time in our day to be WITH God. Of course he’s always with us, but it’s point was devotion and the studying of His teachings.
Then once we read our bible, we must always look at it through spiritual eyes. A man can memorize the whole bible, inside and out.. but if he doesn’t open up his heart and let it effect him, he won’t get anything out of it. So, the key to scripture is first opening up your heart to what it is that God wants to teach you every time you open it up. It's not about memorizing all of the facts, all of the people in the Bible, etc.. it's about spending time with God, and letting Him strengthen your faith through His word.
So by looking at it that way, I try to read it through my day, every day. lol, everyone that knows me can always count on me having a bible in my hand or my pocket. Every good soldier always carries his gun, and every strong Christian always carries God's word in his heart.

I try to read atleast 3-5 chapters a day. I dont just "read" the bible, but meditate on every verse-there are many people who quote the bible and have no clue what it means.
Im trying to read the whole NT 3-4 times before i take on the ot.

Reading the Word is SO important. I know from experience. I have been struggling w/ some very serious sins and temptaions lately and the only way that I've managed to press on and get through it was by reading a chapter a night and writing down what I get out of it. It really does help. I mean simply by writing down verses that mean something to me personally and kinda going over it in my head I have been able to grow in my faith and to become a better person. And Also it's helped to get me to come out of my shell.
Honestly it is probably one of the most important things you can do in your faith.

Reading the bible is good, but sitting and listening to the word for me is so much more impactful. Also I perfer to use the Bible to study topics which come up. Simply reading, one tends to pass over things, if you are reading to meet a quota for the day. I also believe one should not read to meet a schedule, just study.
