Not sure if non-denominationals know about this but this is where I post it 'cuz since I'm non-denominational. Basically, I'm just curious about the Heavens. A friend of mine told me Third Heaven is where God chills, Second Heaven is where the angels and demons fight and First Heaven is not mentioned. At least, he didn't know what First Heaven was. So I'm just wondering what it is. Is it Earth or Hell or something alotogether different? I'm not sure but I thought it was so awesome because my friend told me Paul was able to teleport from one place to another by going to the Thrid Heavens. Which is awesome. Though I'm not sure where that is in the Bible, I must have missed it. Your thoughts, I suppose.

Near as I can ascertain, 1st heaven is the sky (ie - the limit of Earth's atmosphere), 2nd is above the sky (space), and third is the one normally referred to as heaven

Near as I can ascertain, 1st heaven is the sky (ie - the limit of Earth's atmosphere), 2nd is above the sky (space), and third is the one normally referred to as heaven3 seminaries and this is the only way I have ever heard it taught/believed. Only clarification I would say is that 3rd heaven may be better defined as the spiritual realm.
As to Paul 'teleporting'-- tell your friend to go back and read the scripture-- Paul had a vision/experience where he was caught up to heaven/spirit realm and saw things from God (much like John in the Revelation or the prophet Daniel), he wasn't taking trips different places.

The posts above are what is commonly accepted within the protestant church (I"m not sure about catholic or orthodox)
However, it is my opinion that, When paul speaks about 3rd heaven, he probably would have been doing so in refrence to the Jewish belief in 7 heavens. In this view the first bordered on the earth, the second was the abode of the stars (solar system or deep space), the 3rd was partially a paradise which contained the tree of life etc. on up to the 7th which was the very throne room of God.

This is always what I heard. But then again, there could be another explanation.

3 heavens in the bible, and 2 types of the heaven God resides in.
heavens...
A. the Sky (And water poured from the heavens)
B. Space
C. Heaven where God Resides
1. First heaven (and first hell), this is the heaven that exists as of now.
2. Second Heaven, mentioned at the end of Revelation, this is the new heaven, the new City of Jerusalem on a purified Earth is this new heaven.

Hey you bunch of dumb**** X-tians! How's life? still praising that divine being that doesn't exist? I was just wondering how you can continue to go through life thinking there really is a "God", It is not possible to contact this "god" and there's no way to prove this "god" is real. So my question is? Why praise him? Is it benefiting you? Do you like to be prevented from masturbating? Do you like the fact that your religion spawned the KKK, and is the source of so much prejudice, such as it's a sin to be gay and if you don't praise you'll burn with the one angel named Lucifer that was banished by God for having his own opinion? Well I'll leave that in your mind you bunch of retarded hicks, vote Kerry for all our sakes and for the poor oil ridden 3rd world countries out there. =)
P.S. Here's a little tid bit for all you ladies out there, if you were to unmarrie (divorce) your husband, you may never marry again unless you reconcile with your former husband, most of you are sinners. Straight from the book of BS.

A. the Sky
B. Space
C-1. Heaven where God Resides (Now)
C-2. Heaven where God Resides ( at the end of time)
The 1st and 2nd heaven mentioned there are 1st and 2nd in a time line, not co-existing.
I think this is what you were meaning.

I believe all this is mentioned throughout genesis and revelation.
