Hello everybody. Yes, I do know Jesus lived a sinless life and everything, but what would have happened if Jesus DID sin? Like, let's say Jesus decided to lie and say He wasn't the Son of God so He didn't die on the cross. What would have happened to Jesus? Would the Son of God part of Him be taken away and He would just be a human or something like that?

Well if you believe what is in the Bible, for him its an impossibility to disobey God because he is God. So maybe you should reword the question?

I know, I was just saying as a hypothetical question. I know Jesus did not sin, but what would have happened if Jesus DID sin. Man, it was just a hypothetical question.

If this was in any way to me ...
I answered it as a hypothetical question . But , if you didn't understand how it was an answer , I knew that the explanation could take a long time for us both to be back on the same page . That is why I attempted to edit the post before you saw it . You were too quick for me . :)

Though its impossible for Jesus to sin, if he did sin, then his sacrifice would be meaningless.

Exactly. He wouldn't be qualified to die for our sins if He was a sinner Himself. But, praise God, He didn't. How could God in the flesh sin?

Well, Jesus must have been able to sin because He was also human. Yes, He was fully God but He was also fully human. If Jesus could not have been able to sin, then His temptations are meaningless because He was too good for them. Also, if it was 100% impossible for Jesus to sin, then why did satan tempt Jesus, and then it is useless for us to try to strive for perfection, as the quote rings in my mind: "Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect." Yes, Jesus was fully God and fully Human. Yes, I do believe Jesus lived a perfect life and everything. Don't think I'm a heretic here.
I have another question. As a hypothetical situation, if Jesus did sin while He was on the earth (yes, I know, He did not sin, but as a hypothetical situation), would God have another "son of God" come to die for everybody? Again, yes, I know Jesus was the only Son of God and He was sinless, but if Jesus did sin, would God select another person to be sinless if Jesus decided to sin?
I hope no one takes this wrong... I do believe that Jesus was sinless and He was the ONLY Son of God, I was only bringing up a hypothetical situation...
