It is tolerated, if the other person is a baptized Christian. It is not ideal.

Basically, marrying a Roman Catholic is just as good as marrying an Orthodox. It's those non-denominational folks you best keep your distance from.

This is absolutely false.

It's best to marry someone who is in communion with the one true Church, but by economy for pratical reasons one may marry a baptized Christian from any Christian group, but the wedding must be Orthodox.

When I married my wife, Mandy, she was non-Orthodox, coming from a Southern Baptist background. My priest approved this, but did question my wife about her willingness to attend our parish and confirm a commitment to raising our children in the Orthodox faith.

Well, I'm only marrying a Roman Catholic nice wee girl, as the chances of finding an Orthodox girl my age here in New Zealand is absolutely tiny, I have been told.

If she wants to marry in a Roman Catholic parish then that is fine by me; totally. However, I would not marry anyone from any other denomination.

This is not official Orthodox teaching, but my opinion. :)
