This was the show that got my interested in Christianity in 1999. It was this show that set me on my journey to Christ and his Church.
What do you all think of it?

I don't care for the 'icon' on the cover. Is it of Christ, I cannot make out any inscription ?

I love it. It's not accurate in many ways, but it is respectful and well produced. My only problem is that the second half is entirely focused on the West. It's still very good, though. The best thing about it is all the Icons and beautiful artwork that it shows. (I could do without the Gregorian Chant set to New-Age pond-music techno beats. I wish they'd leave good music alone.) They interview His Grace Bishop KALLISTOS and an Orthodox Priest (I can't remember which one.)
All in all, it's not Orthodox in perspective and there are several interpretive errors (meaning they got many of the facts right, but failed to connect them correctly and/or missed the point) but it is well done, enjoyable, respectful, and- given the current state of television and the entertainment industry- it's extremely refreshing.

Oh- and they completely ignore the Theotokos. I think they kind of give her an honorable mention somewhere in the middle, kind of like a footnote. Otherwise, I still love it and if it was used to bring you into The Church, Glory to God for it!

I'm glad to hear that you both like it. The reviews seem rather mixed, and if they interview and treat Elaine Pagel as a great scholar, well, you have to wonder!! And the anti-West aspect seems a little too much.
