Lately I've had a real bee in my bonnet about being gay and how the church condemns it and stuff, but the truth is, I don't really know why, because I'm not really ready to label myself as gay anyway (excuse my terminology Rusmeister and other people, it's just the easiest way to explain it).
I mean, don't get me wrong, it's fellow males who I'm primarily attracted to, but a part of me is still open to dating women as well. It's not black and white with me...

Hi there. Forgive me, but you're 17 yo. My thoughts:
Try not to focus on your sexuality too much right now. You have many other things that are more important as far as your "identity" goes: your personal politics, your spiritual life, your friendships and "relationships" in real life. These things are "immediate". Sexuality, if modern "thinking" is to be trusted, is set for "life". (If it is determined by genetics, there's not much you can "do" about it.) Therefore, you have your entire life to think it over, and pray about it.
Try not to stress about it. Instead, think on these things:
Our Lord has overcome the world, and....
Our Lord has asked us to follow Him.

Even if you were completely straight, at your age, you'd have to battle these urges, since you're years away from marriage. No matter what you think you are, at the age of 17, with very few exceptions, you're not about to get married, so you have years of struggle ahead of you, so don't even bother either way right now, you know?

You do not know why the church condemns it ? or that you do not know why it has been in your mind? I am not sure I understand your question...
If you question the church then it is time to read more on the Fathers i think.. If you do not know why it is in your mind... I would agree it is a teen thing. Try to focus on other things like activities so that you occupy your mind and energy. It is a futile task to worry about one's sexual impulses.... They lead to depression and emptiness. My opinion... read "My life in Christ" by St. John the Krostandt. It is a great book and uplifting while you are striken with temptation of any kind.
Like Rus said look at the other thread also.
