Brothers and sisters in Christ,

Please pray for us! My mother is coming with me to Divine Liturgy this Sunday for the first time! She had said she was going to go the past 3 Sundays or so, but things always turned up. This Sunday she is truly going to go, God willing. She is showering, laying out clothes, etc. the night before. She is really serious about going. She says that she is curious about what I see in the Orthodox Church! :) Please pray that it all goes only according to God's will.

While on the subject of my mama, I also want to take a second to offer praise and thanksgiving to God. Some of you know how harshly mom has dealt with Orthodoxy and my conversion. The past few weeks she has been asking serious questions in honesty, and she freely, without any qualm, now lets me go to church each Sunday! She is also very much wanting to talk with Fr. Stephen about what this Orthodoxy is all about! So for any of you that sort of know the history, and have been praying for us... well, it's "working"! The Lord is having mercy. Please pray that this continues only so much as the Lord wills.

Also, while I am asking for prayers so vehemently... :P Please pray for my Nana. The doctors think they found an anurism in the major aorta artery. She is very upset about it.

Lord, have mercy! :crosseo:

Thank y'all!

Not to break the optimism, but just as a cautionary thought...

After talking with your uncle, is it possible that your mom talked with him? He could have advised her not to oppose you too strongly (since rebellion against a parent's wishes is such a common thing at your age) in case that was driving you to it more. Maybe now she wants to check it out for herself to make sure that she's not letting you get involved in a cult or something. Just be prepared for her to still oppose Orthodoxy, even if she's accommodating for a bit now, k?

choirfiend, she had been planning on going before the stuff with my Uncle. Of course, my Uncle has always encouraged her to not oppose me in hopes that I was doing this just for rebellion. So while it is highly likely this may be the case, she does sound really sincere. Which also, I believe, stems from the fact that she has recently figured out that when I say "I want to be a monk after high school", I'm not just playing around. :P
