Earlier, I posted about the issue of Word of Faith Doctrines and C&MA. I know many of us admire for both A.B. Simpson in which he founded Christian and Missionary Alliance Church (C&MA). A.W. Tozer is among one of great leaders of C&MA organization.

Back in 2003, members has left C&MA when they announced that Word-Faith is going to be accepted and endorsed by C&MA in their official magazine Alife (Alliance Life), C&MA Online Magazine, "Are You Ready For A Miracle?", by Jonathan Graf, Director For Prayer Mobilization, September 2003. (http://www.alliancelife.org/current/practical-0309.php (http://www.alliancelife.org/current/practical-0309.php))

You won't find any of their (Simpson & Tozer) writings talking about Word of Faith doctrines.

Recently, I became aware that C&MA came up with their 'position paper' after the article came out. I am happy because I wanted to see if I can be part of one their local churches.

Why are godly people not always healed? Healing, like any other work of God, is a sovereign, supernatural act of His grace. God does not exist to fulfill our demands or requests, but rather we need to discern God’s will and pray according to what we believe that He wants to do (1 John 5:14-15).
Is it wrong to take medication or seek medical help? No. God has given men and women great understanding of the human body, diseases, and cures of various kinds. However, the ultimate question is, in what are you trusting? Are you trusting in medical science and the skill of physicians, or are you trusting in Christ as your Healer?

They also came out with this position paper.

The Health and Wealth Gospel: In reconciling the positive and negative scriptures dealing with wealth, it is our attitude, namely our desire for it, that can make its possession evil (1 Timothy 6:9,10). We reject as unbiblical the suggestion that God has set up universal laws of prosperity, put into action by faith and positive confession. :thumbsup:There is equal error in believing God must meet both our needs and desires or that somehow the poor have dishonored God by not being delivered from poverty. We affirm that material poverty is part of the curse of our fallen world and it is never God's pleasure or delight that his children remain in poverty. Our contention is that if the church embraces the reign and rule of God in the management of all its possessions, then it will see, as a by-product of the advancement of the Kingdom, a powerful liberation of God's people.

I will check out one C&MA's local church that is close to my new home. I never visited it. I visited the other one a few years ago near my "old" home.

As with any denom., they will vary from place to place.

The campus outreach back in my college days was "Spirit-Filled" and had "contemporary" worship. Its local parent church was much more "traditional" and "churchy." My then-girlfriend's C&MA seemed to barely hold to the "Healer" part of the C&MA's "four-fold Gospel," was "churchy" and traditional, and had elders that spoke disparagingly of "those tongue-talkers."
