~ Reading over the threads in this and other forums I am inspired to ask "what would happen?"
~ What would happen if we started a thread called: What the Anti-Faith, Anti-Word Cult really believes?
~ What would happen if we started a thread on the horrors of the Doctrine of Doubt/Tradition of Fear (DoD/ToF) movement based on some of its more illustrious heros? You know, mass murderers, theives and terrorists like calvin, knox, luther et al...
~ What would happen if we started to expose the wealth of the puritans and their reformed and remonstrant successors?
~ What would happen if we started to explore the deep seated racism and elitism of the reformers and the post reformation movements? Started to study the results of their teachings and its hindrance on the growth of Christianity around the world, and its links to wars, genocide, rape, theft, child-kidnapping etc?
~ What would happen if Christians demanded the same level of historical and Biblical accountablity of the DoD/ToF types that is demanded of WoF types?
~ What would happend if we asked that individuals actually learn to read, and then be intellectually honest enough to read something in context?
~ What would happen? :holy:
~ Continue to discuss amongst yourselves...

Peace,

Leimeng

What would happen? :D

I would return to WWMC for some tea and biscuits, that's what. Anyone care for a cup?

Lord, have mercy!

I'll share the biscuits, but I'm partial to coffee myself.

I know, an American idiosyncrasy to be sure, but one I suffer under with little intent to change.

Repentance is not in my vocabulary when it comes to coffee, and French Roast is the only thing I admire the French for. :D

Ahhhh.... human (sinners) mistakes that forgiven Christian makes even when their doctrines are sound. There have been times those leaders "forget" their responsibility just as David, Solomon, Moses and other great leaders did.

Its easier to attack a person's character than to attack doctrines. Doctrines should be the focus even though a person's character may be tied to.

They would then as they do now.

Screams of heresy, legalism. gnosticism, etc.

And all that screaming would be done without the smallest bit of understanding or desire to understand.

Thinking that those who are WOF have never heard "their intelligent" argument of doubt, unbelief and fear before.

what would happen?
the post would be reported as a flame.
the charge would be found true, and WOF would flee.

but that's history...............

now we know better than to make such posts.;)

Doctrine is sound?

In some cases perhaps. But in some cases their "doctrine" is what gave them cause to the tyrants, murderers, elitists, etc that they were. In short many of these people were unloving, self-righteous bigots. Many too were just flawed, but our "doctrine" needs to translate into good works and love.

Yes I agree. Often man's doctrines often gets in the way of the doctrine of love. Thinking logically is a tough thing to do because it works against our human and horizontal perspective on true salvation. My perspective from what I am reading from the Scriptures, that if we desire honor and glory from God, we must display humility first. Practicing charity (love) is a toughie depending on someone's view from where they are sitting/experiencing. We can fake other people but we can't fake God. Romans 12:9 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.

A Christian will pursue the will of God actively and be enthusiastic and the attitude toward Christ, a Christian will manifest love and burning devotion from the heart. When I am alone with God, He taught me the true meaning of a spiritual relationship of self-discipline. "Is my spiritual life superficial or real?" I will not understand my spiritual character deeply unless I subject myself to the spiritual discipline of the Holy Spirit and have a wonderful relationship with God who I know.

Any attempt to follow Jesus’ example of ministry will be ineffective unless we also follow His example of love.

Romans 12:9 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.

In my view, anyone who can use the word 'hate' straight after saying that love must be sincere, does not understand God's love.

There is no hatred in Christ, and there is no hatred in God.

Christ said, love your enemies, and do good to those who hurt you.

No mention of hatred. :)
