The School of Hillel and the School of Shami were so far apart that the Talmud expresses fear that the One Torah might end up as two torot ("Sanhedrin" 88b). Medrashim say that when Moshiach comes we will follow the School of Shamai. In other words, the School of Hillel will become lower, and the School of Shamai higher. This is difficult, because "in holy things we only elevate and do not lower (maalim bakodesh veein moridim)." This is because conflicting opinions in the Torah are considered complementary rather than exclusive, and the words of both Hillel and Shamai, even though they apparently contradict each other, are considered "the words of the Living God:"

Is it my understanding that on this forum, there is a following of the Hillel School?

ummm, the following of Hillels teachings are reserved for pharisees alone- thus Orthodox Jews
then comes an expression of Hillels teachings through the other realms of Judaism that are attached to Oral Torah - which would be Reform and conservative.
MJism- ummm, some recieve parts of it- some do not recieve any part of it.
However, in the saying that you have quoted- there is more that is needed to be understood.
I'll put it like this.
Why was it said that:
the Talmud expresses fear that the One Torah might end up as two torot ("Sanhedrin" 88b).
this is the reason- they were both right!
now, how could they both be correct if they were so opposed?
to understand this and to get the answer- you have to understand exactly what kind of TIME FRAME they were both in.
:D
that my little hint- now, i hope that you do the work to get the answer

Antonio...why do you make them work so hard? Poor things, they want a clear and easy answer. Well, if they want the guidance of a Jew, I will give them the guidance of a Jew. And they will have to learn that if they ask for it. If they don't want it, they'll have to learn not to ask for it, no?
Judaism, as you know better than I, is not a faith of mediocre answers-sweet and easy-they are hard answers.
Jewish responses make a male into a man, a mensch!Yes, you're right. But from what I've seen, many people don't want to have to really think too deeply...investigate...search. But it is true... whoever wants to do things in a Judaic way will have be willing to struggle to comprehend the things in Torah. I'll stop this now because I don't need a warning.
I, for one, apologize to the OP. This was not directed at you in the least. I got carried away talking to Antonio and this was off-topic. I apologize.
