1. This is a new forum, and it is natural for us to have growing pains for a little while.

2. The people who pushed to set this forum up, are not responsible for the dribble that has been happening lately. That is mostly outside troublemakers who come here for the express purpose of causing problems.

3. We need to remember to respect each other. When we as Jews say that there is no way for Messianics to be considered part of the Jewish community--it is not to disrespect you as individuals (I'm sure a bunch of you are nice people). However, as Qalavera stated in a recent thread it is because there are fundamental base line differences between our two peoples. We're not saying your not entitled to believe whatever you want, we're saying we disagree and why.

the reason we have been more apparently antagonistic in our position of late is because for the past several months we have been being attacked by individuals who cannot find it within themselves to respect Jews. It makes us warry. So respect away, and we will do the same (if we stay), but don't expect us to agree with your religious beliefs.

on a personal note, also don't expect me to give you the secret to my bubbie's recipee for latkes. :P

kivi says: I have no expectation that any Christian in this group will stop being a follower of Jesus Christ any more than I expect a Jew here to become one. I hope that is not what the vast majority of us are here for. The few that are or are just here to stir the pot have already made themselves pretty obvious. I expect that most of us are pretty sure in our beliefs and practices. Great. However, I do believe that improved communications, even if they show that people have mutualy exclusive desires, can lead to greater tolerance. Its better to shake a few fists then throw a few fists. Which is a pretty good goal. I hope that all of us can take a few deep breaths; remember those members here who have real respect for each other, even in disagreement; and move on. Any one want to join the Grumpy Old Men Society? I hope that CM and I are the charter memebers at CF.
