When I look at my profile now, or hit user CP, I get to see my past infractions (forever), and so do my friends. I'm wondering if they are going to come up with a sin page for our profile so all of that can be kept track of on a permanent basis too. Not just our sins on here, but all of them. It's hard on one's self esteem around here....guess I had better behave better.

Question - is it now ok to talk about specifics on our infractions, right here on the board, since they are hanging there for everyone to look at anyway?

Other people can see your infractions? I don't think that's correct...infractions were ALWAYS listed on your profile, but only you and the mods can see them. Infractions also expire after a year. Yes, it's so people can be kept track of...like those troublemakers in GT...

Oh, I was accused of being "difficult"... Can you imagine? :P
Actually I have been traveling so much that I have spent little time here since the end of March. I have been home a total of 17 days, and I leave again a week from this Friday for 11 days.

Well, if you say no one can see it, I believe you. I saw this tab in my profile and thought everyone could click on it. I guess my mouth/fingers overfloweth sometimes. :sorry: Please forgive me yet another infraction. :)

No one except yourself and the mods should see this.
This was one of the major objections that some mods presented with the new system of modding.
Do non-mods see this? Anyone?
Please confirm.

I find this to be an unbelievably hard schedule.
In the Gideons organization where I volunteer we have a Trustee for several states who travels 50 out of 52 weekends often sandwiched with Mondays and Fridays.
One of our international level Gideon big boys commented on this schedule.
He said when he looked at this schedule lately he said to himself: "This is impossible!".
Yet when he himself was a Trustee some years back and was given this schedule, he just looked at it and said: "No problem".
He was reflecting on different reactions he had towards a same schedule in different points of his life.
He figured it out this way. When he was a Trustee and was given this schedule, he saw no problem with it, ... because he was called. :):):)
Good for you, filo. :)

REV 20:11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
Since your name is found in the Book of Life, my guess would be the CF "notices" that might be found in these other books would be just ... history. :)
Thanks, :)

Infractions/notices shouldn't be seen by anyone other than staff...but you know, glitches happen. Especially on this board ;)
Notices are NOT punishments, guys. They are just notes for staff to know that a rule violation has occurred and THAT IS IT.
I was just informed recently by a friend, that notices were coming under the section called Infraction, so no wonder people were freaking out about them. Apparently complaining works because they should be changing the infraction word under that section to staff contact or something like that. Try to think of the notices as a formal PM.
We all make mistakes here on the boards. I know I've made my share of them...and I'd be embarrassed for everyone to see them! Yikes.

In retrospect, I really should have fought the first infraction I received. All I did was state the truth about a certain professor from Ohio who posts predominately in CP&E Debates on Homosexuality and denies the central tenets of the Christian faith. Never state a conclusion about a person who does that. You'll get in trouble every time. :sigh: The amount of ad hom I see in this forum pales in comparison to what I've seen in other forums. CP&E Debates on Homosexuality is nothing but ad hom. Take that away and that forum would see a lot less activity, because no one would be able to "express" themselves.

I don't see any point in even discussing homosexuality on this site - and I mean any thread with a specifical aspect about it - every single one of them heads right to the source of "it's sin/it's not sin"... comes to an impass...... implodes...... move to next thread & start all over again.
Why bother making any topic names - just say "this is another gay thread to fight about it being right or wrong" & get it over with already lol
 :swoon:
Gosh I'm sick of those topics. I just left the only 2 I had posted in from another area. The human brain can only take so much.

I think it's possible to discuss our past sinful infractions with each other without judging whether or not the mod's actions were right or wrong in giving us that infraction. That's the rule violation right? Debating whether or not a mod's actions were correct? People second guessing your actions is what you guys hate right? And for the record, telling people not to discuss what happens to them in PM with other members, I think is overstepping the boundaries of your job.

You can't pm it either???
See that's like secret service stuff... that means there's no checks & balances or power to the members in their own affairs. It's their account - they should be able to tell anyone they want.
This is especially bad with perma bans - they're silenced immediately & their pm's shut off. kinda creepy. "the man". LOL

According to the rule you can't PM it to other members. That's what the rule says. However, the reality is that people do PM each other about infractions. I've done it, never been caught. Because in order to be caught a mod would have to be policing the PMs. Since they don't police the threads, I'm certain they're not policing the PMs either. They can only act after a report has been filed. If someone reports a PM you've sent them, then there's a chance you might get into trouble.

If you have any complaints then you have to post them in the appropriate forums. It's a way of controlling what is being said and discussed. They can segregate you away from others and control the discussion to their ends. It's called "divide and conquer"
