Theology aside, Greg Laurie is a very engaging and charismatic speaker.

I went to a Calvary chapel for a little while before I became Orthodox and at least those times when they taught from the gospel it was for a protestant church pretty theologically sound. However they often went in for the Joel Osteen school of preaching about kind of feel good non-gospel Christianity.

They did have one guy on the radio who I would probably still listen to now and again if I could remember his name. Not sure who it is though.

I like how they avoid extremes, being neither fundamentalist nor pentacostal.

And only slightly Nestorian. ;)

Please elaborate. If I weren't Orthodox, Calvary would be first on my list.

When I used to listen to Greg Laurie, I found him to occasionally make statements such as, "Jesus did this in his human nature"...

It was probably more of a slip-up than actual Nestorianism, though.

The Orthodox Church teaches that Jesus' human nature suffered on the cross, not His divine nature, despite both being perfectly one. You might need to learn how to stop judging people.

I attended a friend's wedding at Calvary Chapel yesterday. I was so overwhelmed by the joy in Christ around me that three hours felt like thirty minutes. I don't know how to explain the feeling, but Christ was present.

I go to a Calvary chapel and just as was posted here I like the fact that they try to stay away from extremes. whats interesting though is although I do respect him Greg Laurie isn't one of my favorites he definitely Has the Gift of evangelism though. I went to one of his harvest crusades about 2 weeks ago and he gave a moving message in spite of the fact his first son had just died in a car crash a week and a half earlier.
out of curiosity what other pastors from Calvary Chapel have you heard

Most of my non-Orthodox friends belong to Calvary Chapel.
