Even when I tie the Torah around my neck the fish won't bite. Fishing has been poor, so I will try again some other day.

Yep, LOL.
Just like a bad workman blames his tools, a bad fisherman
blames the fish...."they're not biting today"....:D

No insults, we are just having fun.....;):D Oh, I got a nibble, and it's a big one, but my reel is jammed. Darn! It's the fishing poles fault, I just know it. Dirty diapers, and junk like that.

Guess we are a little smarter than the fish, and know enough
not to be fooled by bait.... :) Well the early bird gets worms; so if I have worms I can bait the Orthodox. So it's good night from me. :holy:

MTAA I wouldn't let you give me the time of day, and trust you it is accurate, much less a wormy interpretation of the Holy Torah. Seriously. And (one of) your problem(s) is you still don't understand your prey -- as Chava told you, worms are trief. They're not kosher. Get it, Grasshoppah?

As an aside... anyone ever notice that people are always going around talking about how "good" treif "food" is?

Who are the Hebrews?

Archaeological and genealogical evidence clearly demonstrates that today's Jews are descendants of the ancient Hebrews from the Levant. It's only biblical scholars that question who they are... so if you disagree that the Israelites/Jews are the Hebrews, then you are siding with the theologians and not the scientists.

sometimes, but really, the bible is not an authority on races of people as that is not its purpose

sometimes, but really, the bible is not an authority on races of people as that is not its purpose Because I believe the scriptures are the word of God, they are authoritative for me. That includes it's descriptions of who a Jew and Israel is.

then you rock on and believe that the bible is the ultimate authority.... but even it says it is not... so... there ya go.

Guys, he's winning. The more we raise to the bait, the more he tricks us into LaShan Haroh toward people that we CAN have positive relations with. We can't give him that power.

MTAA has seen them, and of course the link I made to my post in his closed thread (which I can not bump up since he had it closed, for fear of it continuing to be posted-to) was of a post I made quite a bit ago already, doing nothing more than citing reasonably authoritative sources for the definitions he asked for. He is still asking for these same definitions, and rather write them all up again -- which is engaging him -- I pointed him (and actually not really him, but those reading this thread now, and later down the road) to my previous post.

I love you just the way you are. I was just making a general observation. Probably, more out of disgust with myself for getting suckered by him [over and over, again] than anything else.

kivi says:
I was a school teacher for a long time. I monitored a lot of school playground recesses. One year there was a kid who did the following. He would tease some of the other kids. He wasn't a bully, he couldn't pull that off. But he would mess up their games taking and hiding the ball or running through the middle of the dodgeball game or some such other really annoying thing. He would chase the girls and get them all screaming, he would have the boys chasing him so they could 'get' him and in a few minutes he would have the entire playground in an uproar. He loved to run to me, blaming all the other kids for picking on him. It was total chaos and there I was, trying to deal with 'he said, they said' and never really seeing the first cause of the upset!!!! So, I would scream at everybody to behave, threatening to take eveybody's recess away and the uproar would quiet down until next recess and then, start up all over again. Recess after recess after recess. It was a Baruka that one of my students pointed out to me exactly what was happening. I checked it out for myself and the student was right. I thought on it for a while, checked with my principal and put this plan of action into effect. We ignored him. It was hard. He was very good at what he did. It was really hard not to react to his behaviors. But we stuck with it, encouraging each other to stay out of it and not get hooked, ignoring his junky actions and teasing. Over time, the situation did improve somewhat. His behaviors never really went away, he would keep trying to get the uproar started, testing to see if our guard was down. But, eventually, most of the junk behavior by him stopped. Recesses were a lot more enjoyable for everybody. Well, maybe not him. But the rest of us stopped dreading recess and started looking forward to it.
