Rabbi Elyashiv Joins Battle For Jerusalem
2 Cheshvan 5768, 14 October 07 04:07
by Ezra HaLevi
(IsraelNN.com) In the opening shot of the battle for Jerusalem, top rabbis of the Hareidi-religious and Jerusalemite communities have joined Rabbi Avraham Shapira’s final statement against dividing Jerusalem.
A large gathering planned for Sunday at the Ramban Synagogue in the Old City is being organized by Chief Rabbi of the Old City, Rabbi Avigdor Nebenzahl and Rabbi Eliyahu Medina. Joining the protest is Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv, considered the head of the Lithuanian Hareidi-religious public.
The assembly is being called under the banner “Over Jerusalem they cast lots” – a verse from Ovadiah (1:11) – and will include “prayers and supplications to G-d.”
The event will begin after the 12:30 PM afternoon prayer at the synagogue, which is located in the Jewish Quarter’s main square.
Earlier this month, Vice-Premier Chaim Ramon outlined his political plan for dividing Jerusalem, saying: “The Jewish neighborhoods will be recognized by both sides as Israeli neighborhoods under Israeli sovereignty. Likewise, Arab neighborhoods such as Shuafat will be recognized as Palestinian neighborhoods. There will be arrangements to ensure, free, safe passages between the various Israeli neighborhoods and likewise between the Palestinian ones.”

Feiglin to Bibi: Say You'll Never Honor J'lem Division
4 Cheshvan 5768, 16 October 07 10:12
by Gil Ronen
(IsraelNN.com) The head of the "Manhigut Yehudit" (Jewish Leadership) faction in the Likud party, Moshe Feiglin, is putting pressure on the party's leader, Opposition Head Binyamin Netanyahu, to announce that he will not honor any agreement that cedes parts of Jerusalem, if and when he becomes Prime Minister.
In a letter made public Tuesday, Feiglin demanded that Netanyahu announce without delay that "the Likud movement sees negotiations on Jerusalem's future as illegitimate and that a future government headed by the Likud will not consider itself bound by decisions reached in such negotiations."
Feiglin, who received 23% of the registered Likud members' votes in the August primaries, warned that if Netanyahu does not rise to the challenge within the next few days, he will act to convene the Likud's Central Committee (Merkaz) in order to force a decision that makes it incumbent on the Likud's elected leaders to see any decision about dividing Jerusalem as an illegitimate one, which is not to be honored.

Knesset Majority: ‘Don’t Divide Jerusalem!’
7 Cheshvan 5768, 19 October 07 10:19
by Hana Levi Julian
(IsraelNN.com) More than half of Knesset Members from both the opposition and the coalition factions have signed a petition against plans to hand over parts of Jerusalem to the Palestinian Authority.
The document rejects plans to relinquish Israel’s sovereignty over holy sites in the Old City and the City of David, just outside the Old City walls, as well as possible intentions to give eastern Jerusalem’s Arab neighborhoods to the PA.
Likud MK Yisrael Katz and other Likud MKs spearheaded the drive, and they were quickly joined by nearly 30 coalition MKs, including thirteen members of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s own Kadima party and all of Shas

Mobilizing to Face the Threat to Jerusalem
23 Cheshvan 5768, 04 November 07 05:44
by Hillel Fendel
(IsraelNN.com) Responding to the still little-known danger that critical parts of Jerusalem might soon be lost to the Jewish People, the Orthodox Union has sprung into action.
The OU is a prominent member of the newly-formed Coordinating Council for Jerusalem’s Future, a coalition of American-Jewish organizations dedicated to preventing Jerusalem from falling victim to the Annapolis summit. In a press release, the OU explains that it is taking action in light of "public statements by American, Israeli and Palestinian officials calling into question the fate of Jerusalem as the eternal and indivisible capital of the Jewish People."

I do not agree with any split of Jerusalem. It is the capital of the Palestinian nation and historic center of our history. Palestine will stand with it's capital as Jerusalem in it's entity.

where is the prophecy of the splitting of Jerusalem?

What does this have to do with prophecy? This is an issue of secular politics. Palestine is a secular state as is the zionist entity.

once again..... wrong .... The G-d of Avraham, Yitzkakh and Yaacov is bigger than any petty politics ...... The State of Zion, aka Israel, while made up of individual fallible humans, is nevertheless a fulfillment of the prophesies of the above mentioned, singular, unique and Only True G-d.

You can disagree, but there is no need for arrogance... especially when you are speaking from a position of opinion rather than fact.
How is the modern, secular socialist state of "israel" a fulfillment of prophesies?
The only thing it has in common with the ancient Theocracy of Israel, which are the subject of the ancient texts is that it shares a name... "Israel". Beyond that you'll have to enlighten me to your rational.
But before we continue, when referring to the covenant with God, do you accept that it was given to the decedents of Abraham?
